I saw no problem whatsoever with what Our Captain did after hitting that big shot last night.

If that was in fact his celebration, that is far more classy than say - what Kobe would've done. Look at some of Kobe's game winners over the years - he has a sort of "air" to himself - arrogance.

Paul Pierce? Last night, I saw a warrior that had just carried his team to victory - no arrogance whatsoever. He even laid claim to this "Newfound" rivalry that NY and Boston seems to have (Which ESPN did a good job in creating over the last few days).

In the post-game interview, he stated that NY is definitely a competitor in their division - what more does NY (and Spike Lee ;D) want to hear?

He showed the Knicks and their fans respect by expressing that much excitement over the win, and he did it with humor.  That's real class, not the fake stuff.

Paul Pierce, for better (mostly) or for worse, likes him some drama and always has.

People who like drama like to perform in New York, New York.

New Yorkers like that performers want to perform on their stage. Having someone elite they can really boo gets them as whipped up as having someone they can really cheer... just ask Reggie Miller. (This is basically true of any good sports town, but there might be an extra performance/drama angle in NYC.)

He gave the fans what they came for.

That was one of the most competitve reg. season games I ahve seen in a long time. Couple that with the fact the Celtics never had control of the game at any point before the last minute, the Captain essentially ripped the game from the Knicks. How do you want him to act?

I react like that when i beat someone in checkers.

Here's the thing:  last year, most fans criticized the team for sleep-walking through the regular season as the players seemed not to care. 

Now, when the players get super excited about winning a regular season game, we criticize them.  Well, think about the alternative.  I'd much rather see Pierce (and Nate) celebrate like they won the championship, as opposed to being complacent about just another regular season game.
