Epic finish!!!

I knew Paul would hit the game winner, guts feeling... that and the fact he made the almost exact same shot in the preseason against NY : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXYlhsFqOYI

Our defense was terrible tonight, Raptors-level like and Rondo was awful, he should never have come back in the game after his sprain, he really is stubborn and sometimes stupid, he only hurt his ankle more and didn't contribute (he didn't even see Ray wide open before his clutch 3 pointer, that's how you know - among other factors of course - Rondo was bad).

Ray was clutch as usual, Paul very efficient and clutch too (always has big games at MSG), KG the anchor during the 4 quarters combined on D and O... Nate and Glen were OK, they had their moments.

Anyway it's great to have an exciting finish and victory when we play so badly and we can break the Knicks' fans hearts in the process ;D

(But tomorrow's back to back is going to be ugly...)

Donny Marshall: "and Rondo had a great game tonight"

Does he even watch the games?

Rondo played as well as he could have given his injury situation, but anyone could see he was hurting the team.

People are going to overreact to how "well" the Knicks played tonight, but they simply are not that good. The Celts had NO centers tonight and a one-legged point guard in the fourth quarter and they still scored 118 points to win. The Knicks are a novelty act in the NBA.  That is all.
The Knicks are a tough match up for the C's, our lack of a true backup SF hurts a lot against them. Plus we only have one player I want guarding Amar'e....

I disagree 100 percent. If healthy, the Celtics BURY the Knicls. The Knicks should have won this game easily tonight. They are not that good.
Oh yeah, if the C's have their full compliment of O'Neals this game isn't nearly as tough. Having those two back would swing the match up to the C's. The Knicks would be forced to play against too much size.

Plus Jermaine would give us another defender to throw at Amar'e.

i am guessing we will not see rondo tomorrow night vs atlanta. although I like Nate with the starters....

Knicks play no defense and Boston can get whatever they want inside. Throw in Perk, JO and Shaq and they can't play within 10 with boston

I only saw the fourth, but Rondo played well once he checked back in.

He wasn't himself but he was solid on D and moved the ball well to other scorers.

Well they look like a tough matchup until you concider our 4th option at center was starting. I'd like to see what a healthier C's could do against them.

We all love Gorman, but that was one of his all-time worst calls: "Knicks Win"

While I don't think Rondo had a great game tonight, unbelievably, he had 14 assists.

Yeah, Rondo's probably out tomorrow.

The Hawks should be favorites as the Celts will be without Shaq and Rondo....

LOL! TP. How can Donny even think of saying that Rondo had a great game without at least clarifying that it was great for a guy on one leg. Yea, Pierce had a great game against the Bobcats last week then I guess.

Pace inflation for the win....

Wow. I thought the refs were going to count that. Get back soon rondo, but my guess he is out 3-4 weeks

Refs tried their best but even they knew how bad it would if they let that be counted.

Or, you know, they wanted to make the right call  ::)

They sure took their sweet time with that considering it was pretty obvious.  ::)
Refs did a good job in the fourth quarter, the only part of the game I saw.

Other than the non-call on Chandler for bumping and then blocking Ray and the call for Gallo that gave them a conventional three point play it all was good.

(and I'm not 100% sure Ray stripped Amar'e clean on another so it evened out)

I thought the reffing went sharply against us in the 2nd and 3rd, but it really seemed to go our way in the 4th.  We shot something like 9-1 on free throws, and Felton got hit at least 3 times on drives with no whistles.

It's easy to see a conspiracy when calls like that go against you, but I think ultimately the officials were just pretty bad in a frenetic game.

what I saw was Rondo's man penetrating at will after he checked back in, and Rondo making some bad passes and turnovers in key moments down the stretch.

Yeah it was mostly in the first half (especially the first quarter) where he played the worst, but to say he had a great game is a reach. He was constantly getting blowed by, passing up clear lay ups, and generally making bad decisions. (in the first 3 quarters)

But he's hurt, so I can't really blame him. Stupid of him to stay in the game though.
