Thought the article was interesting. I still think that Blake Griffin needs to improve when going up against the elite bigs of the game, but you're always due for some spectacular plays every game.

Kid can dunk well.   Dunking is but a small part of the game and once you can do it, its rather easy.  But for those who can't they think its the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Rather easy?  Tell that to Kendrick Perkins, who will double pump against air when wide open for a dunk, and end up having to really work for a lay in and short jumper when he let's the defensive come back.  I don't think dunking takes much skill or ability, but some people can do it instinctively and effectively and some can't.  It's the highest percentage shot so it does make a differnce if you're able to dunk effectively in competitive play.

How is Perk going to dunk when he cannot set a pick?

I know it's easy to reduce him to dunks thanks to ESPN, but if you actually watch him play a bit, he has a really good mid range jumper, can hit a three on occasion, though he certainty shouldn't be gone to for that, and has a pretty solid low post game.

He needs to improve on one-on-one post defense, but what rookie doesn't and he is already an above average help shot blocker. He also rebounds at a high rate both offensive and defensive

He also has a bit of that "I'm going to rip your head off" mentality on the court that makes him extra dangerous

To pretend he's just a kid who can dunk is to not understand the player.

I agree. It is like watching Amar'e or Kenyon Martin when they were young. One of them turned what was a game with potential into a defender's nightmare..another turned what was a game with potential into a great finisher at the rim, but little else.

Where Griffin decides to go with his game will define his career.
