i recently watched this season's premiere of ESPN's "The Association" which is featuring the Celtics this time around and which followed the Lakers last year.

i did not watch the Laker edition, but did catch a glimpse of one episode that was shown in the lead-up for this year - it briefly shows Kobe 'Petulant' Bryant in a scene from practice. the team is in the middle of a scrimmage or 5-on-5 work of some type.

Sasha Vujacic is getting ready to guard Bryant and is pointing something out to another teammate and very slightly leans into Bryant while he is talking. Bryant gets his little annoyed face on, and actually threatens Vujacic, "don't touch me the rest of this scrimmage." unbelievable.

this is what i am talking about when i try to explain to people that i dislike all the Lakers as players and as opponents, but i hate Bryant, and Phil Jackson for the same reasons, on a personal level. what a pair of arrogant, despicable human beings.

i want the Lakers in the worst way this year - we owe them some pain.

I am pretty sure KG says a lot of junk in practice too.

And to everyone, the ball boy, the janitor, everyone!

i am pretty sure KG never said anything that ridiculous, that selfish or that arrogant to his own teammate. bryant has long been known to be a bad teammate - he openly yells insults in the middle of games when others don't play up to his "standards" - i've never seen KG act that way. on the contrary, KG really seems to cherish those relationships. the only thing bryant cherishes is his own legacy and his teammates are just a means to an end for him.

don't ever compare KG and Bryant - they are worlds apart as human beings.

As much as I want to agree with you, and I also hate Kobe and Phil with all my heart and soul, you are coming off as a serious homer and need to look at it a bit more objectively. KG talks as much junk as any player in this league, as does Pierce as well. It's all part of the game. So what if Kobe talks some smack to his teammate at practice? He's probably trying to fire him up, I mean, Kobe does know a little bit about winning, he's got 5 rings and the last two 'ships.

As much as us C's fans hate the Lakers, I think there's a respect there, and true Laker fans feel the same about our Celts. I know alot of Laker fans that think KG is a scum bag, but think Kobe walks on water....at the end of the day, it's all about getting the championships...and we NEED to win #18 this year big time.

GO C'S!

How many rings does Kobe have without his teammates? 0. Never liked Kobe and Lebron and their huge egos

of course i'm a homer, aren't you ?

but your suggestion that Bryant is "probably trying to fire him up" and "so what if he talks some smack to his teammates" sounds awfully naive to me - there's a huge difference between talking trash on one hand and treating a teammate like he isn't even worthy of sharing the floor with you.

bryant's post-game demeanor during last year's finals made me sick - when the lakers lost, he came out for the post game presser like a petulant little brat who was mad because he didn't get his way. he acted as if the reporters were lucky he was willing to grace them with his presence and furthermore, he was going to be as difficult and uncooperative as possible, barely answering questions if he answered them at all.

i respect jerry west, i respect magic johnson, i even have a grudging respect for jabbar. but kobe bryant ? respect ? no. none. never will. do you not even remember bryant stating that a lakers-celtics final meant nothing special to him and that boston was just another team as far as he was concerned. he doesn't even respect the game.

kobe bryant cares about one thing and one thing only and that's himself and his records - i need to look at kobe bryant more objectively ? please.

ditto

and you really cant compare lebron and kobe. kobe is a proven champion with a winners mentality that pulls through in the clutch... gotta respect that. lebron is just a primadonna who cant win a ring.

i'll be the first one to tell you that i don't care one bit for paul pierce's mouth - he shoots it off at the most inopportune times. larry bird and dennis johnson were every bit as cocky as pierce, but they knew when and where and how  to express it. just never have liked the way the guy has conducted himself through the years.

yes, he has grown up - and thank god for that, i really think kevin garnett, and ray allen, have been huge positive influences on pierce. antoine walker on the other hand, probably not so much.

I hated him before he was a Laker. I live in Charlotte, the city that drafted him in the first place. And as a kid who never played college ball, he told the Hornets he wouldn't play for them. He basically said that the only team he'd play for was the Lakers. That showed me right there what a self centered jerk the kid was. You're a kid who hasn't proven yourself at all and you're telling teams what to do? You should be happy that they take a risk on you in the first place because not all the "next MJ" kind of players pan out.

As it turns out my hate was validated. He turned out to be as fake and arrogant as I thought he was. But truth be told, I wouldn't want Vujacic touching me either. I'll give him a pass on that one!
Peace through Tyranny

I mean you can watch him for five minutes and know he is a punk in a game.  A punk that can back it up on the court but not in the alley.

Vujacic is a dirty foul prone player.   If I saw that guy hitchniking on a lonely road.......
