They are both nursing nagging knee injuries. They are both slated to come back soon I believe.

Shaq's out tonight with his knee/calf issue. Jermaine is still out and is targeting a return in a few weeks.

I think it was reported last week that JO might be back on the court in a couple of weeks...so, maybe another week for him.

What's wrong with Shaq's knee?

Shaq just has a sore calf, expect him to miss maybe 1-2 games. Jermaine was supposed to start practicing with the team next week so I'd imagine he'd be back on the court soon..

Jermaine got the MLE, and Shaq got the Minimum…

Production would suggest it should have been the other way around. But then again it’s still early.

My thinking is that Shaq's injury isn't very serious.  Notice how he played against Denver (pretty good team) and isn't playing against two sub .500 teams (Philly and Charlotte).

I think this is just the polite way for the C's to say that they don't need to be at full speed to beat Philly and Charlotte.

However, it does concern me that they do this.  As nice as it is to rest Shaq, not having him last game clearly meant that our starters had to play too many minutes.

The fact that they havent been needed is huge isnt it? It is still important to get one of them healthy enough to play some decent (20 mpg or so) minutes soon though IMO. We cant ride Semih and Baby forever.

When healthy, Jermaine O'Neal can play 30 mpg.  When healthy, Shaq can play 20 mpg.  That's part of why there was more demand for JO'N at the beginning of the season.  So far, Jermaine has been injured more.  It wouldn't be shocking if games missed to injury evens out between the two of them by the end of next season.
