I don't think anyone with any kind of credibility is saying Boston's bench is not top 10. If you have a link, I'd love to see it, just to comment-bomb the dummy.

Ah, I don't worry about Haynes. I hear he's going through some stuff at home, and he hasn't been sleeping right.

Now if Marc Stein had said it....STEINNNNNNN!!!!

There are always outliers who think crazy things (or say them just to get a rise).  I would suggest ignoring them, because nothing good will come from trying to make sense of their ramblings.  The vast majority of fans who follow the NBA closely know that the C's, when healthy have (at least)one of the top 5 or 6 benches in the league.

Given the injuries this team has sustained thus far, they had better have a top 10 bench or else players are going to be dang tired come April or we are going to start poiling up a bunch of losses again.

with the injuries i'd say we are top ten right now
with a healthy bench its celtics, lakers & mavs in any order you'd like (who am i forgetting?)
kinda like coaches when you really look at bench strength its a bit shocking how weak the league is from expansion, there are starters on MANY teams who should be bench players

  • Rondo = Good
I'd say we will once everybody is healthy.  With Delonte out and Semih playing significant minutes, it's hard to call our bench anything but average.

I don't see how a bench (when healthy) with Perk/Shaq, Jermaine, Nate, Baby, Quis, and Delonte is not top ten.

Heck, that group has the makings of a top ten starting lineup  ;).

I dont understand how anyone doesnt think the celtics have THE BEST bench in the NBA when healthy...Nevermind top ten.

I had thought that myself but then saw the [dang] lakers and who is coming off the bench for them and dallas as well looks deep.

I'm not buying the Lakers bench.  Yes, Barnes and Blake were good additions, and Shannon Brown is turning into a super sub, but their frontline is ridiculously shallow.  I think that's why they've come back to earth after their hot start.  Pau and Lamar are getting run into the ground.  Bynum may come back and help, but after that, I'm not too sold on Theoratliffasaurus or Derrick "low" Caracter being reliable contributors.

It's a tough argument to say we have a strong bench when the players aren't playing.  It's tough to argue that "when healthy..." when a quarter of the way through the season, we have yet to be at 100% for even one game.  So I can understand the argument that our bench isn't among the strongest-the players aren't playing.

The bench we actually have seems to be mainly Nate, Q, and BBD.

Looking at that trio, it's a decent amount of talent, but perhaps a bit undersized and/or playing out of position quite a bit.

I'd say the Mavs, Orlando, and possibly the Lakers' bench look stronger than ours right now, and quite possibly also the Clippers and Suns as well.

I don't about that. Suns bench is pretty salty.

I'm with you on that one.  C's have the best bench.  period.

a key part of the bench is that they can step in for the starters when there's injuries and that's just what our bench has done.  Shaq and JO have manned the starting center position well and Nate has filled in for Rondo very well.  The only bench player that hasn't lived up to expectations for me has been Wafer and he's the end of the bench SG.  Having said that, even Wafer is serviceable in a pinch.

You can't say the same for anyone else's bench.  we've literally gone 15 deep on our roster at times and the full roster is producing when called upon.  That's the best bench you can have.
