Is it me, or does Pierce seem to be much slimmer this year. Slimmer, a little faster, lighter and quicker. Some of the drop back jumpers he's been pulling look like old school Pierce and when he does dunk he's got alot oa air.

I know he always looks fresher early on, but it seems more than that this year.

For that matter, I also think Shaq is getting in bettter and better shape. He looks trimmer than he has the last few years.

There is a thread about Paul being slimmer (and therefore more effective) towards the beginning of each and every season I think...

...Not that it's not true.

What is helping Paul this year is his willingness to let Rondo be on the attack and be willing to recieve the pass from Rondo for the jumper or to set up his drive to the rim.  He is moving more without the ball then i saw last three years and that is because he trusts Rondo.

Paul has been playing great defensively, he’s been rebounding in big bursts, and he’s proving that he doesn’t need to pound the air out of the ball to score.

Are we still waiting for Paul Pierce's game to fall off a cliff?  Personally, I think '10-'11 Paul Pierce looks as good as '07-'08 Paul Pierce.

He's molded himself into one of the most efficient off the ball scorers in the league, while still being able to be the offensive creator with the ball in his hands when needed.  His defense is as strong as ever, and his fire and competitiveness don't seemed to have waned one bit.

Is he a half a step slower? Sure, but, heck, he was already said to be a half step slower in our championship season.  And, it could be  argued that that was the best season of his career.

SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

He's not proving it, he's realizing it.

good call.

Have you ever seen a prolific scorer get wide open layups under the rim in crunch time of a close game? We’ve seen that numerous times this season.

Shaq could still lose a lot more weight. He won't, but if he did, he would be awesome again.  And he has become such a great fit for our team. I am truly surprised.
