Trade ID #5757305

A nonsense trade due to Philly having no interest?  Imo you give Evan Turner a lot more time.  Anyone know what's holding him back?  He was college player of the year....Holiday's assists could be higher....but not sure he has many folks to pass to.

Kings get:  Holiday, Yi, Thornton, Brackins.............solve PG search

Sixers get:  Arenas, Blatche, Nick Young, Darnell Jackson and Wizards 1st round pick....rides into sunset with Arenas and Iggy in the backcourt.

Wizards get:  Turner, Brand, Casspi, Landry, Udrih and Kings 1st rounder (a bit better than the one they give to Sixers).......

Mostly interested in this for the Wizards, who start winning sooner with veteran Power forwards and young talented bigs behind them to push them (Booker, Seraphin).  Casspi has lots of experience too.  Then there is Turner's potential next to Wall (he'll have to sink or swim with ball in Wall's hands...can he do it....if not Heinrich keeps starting job.....Udrih a nice backup PG....)

Next year:  Wall, Turner, Casspi, Brand, McGee
Bench:  Udrih, Hinrich, J. Howard, Landry, Armstrong/Booker/Seraphin plus #1 pick....

That's an excellent bench with plenty of veterans.....

I can't see why in the world Philadelphia wouldn't laugh at this trade offer.

You should put "trade idea" in the subject...

Seems like a lot for Philly to give up for what they are getting in return.  Holiday and Turner seem to be their back court of the future, I don't see them trading them to get Gilbert Arenas.  I would think trading those two could bring back Carmelo Anthony.
do it

I tend to agree.  They'd certainly start scoring a ton more points.  Other than that, they could tell themselves it's Blatche and Arenas for Holiday and Nick Young and a lottery pick for Evans and Brand.  I agree.  No go. They'd probably laugh for basketball reasons, but I think they'd be even more likely to laugh for non-basketball reasons.  (once Evans comes around, as I still think he will, then they can get back to laughing seriously for basketball reasons, if that makes any sense.... :D

Yes....once Evans gets it together, I think you're right....with few extras and adjustments on both sides....

Sacrificing Turner to get rid of Brand is already highly questionable. But to be forced to take Arenas! Yuck.

Wizard's homer trade.

Yup. If the 76ers prefer Gilbert's bad contract - just make the straight trade for Brand.

  • Rondo = Good
The Sixers won't give up on Evan Turner until they manage to trade Iguodala and give Evan the chance to have the ball in his hands.

The main reason Evan has struggled is his inexperience / inability to play off the ball.  I expect the Sixers to trade Iguodala sometime this season, at which point Turner will be featured much more prominently in their offense.

Yeah, they are giving up arguably the 3 best players in the trade, and getting back the worst contract (Arenas), the biggest headcase other than Arenas (Blatche), and a first round pick in a draft when no one may come out because of the pending lockout.
