I don't feel sorry for Lebron James on bit. He is an egotistical narcissist and does not care about anyone else. I have no problem with the fact that he left Cleveland for greener pastures. I mean honestly, who WANTS to play for Cleveland?? But that is besides the point. He held ESPN hostage, made sure he had all the commercials and then he gave a huge middle finger to Cleveland. He couldn't just tell the ownership and coach to their faces that he wanted to go elsewhere? No one has a problem with the fact he left, just the way with which he left.

Dude gave up in the playoffs. GAVE UP. Name me one superstar caliber player who has ever done that before. He also told the nation that he spoiled us with his play. Who the heck does this guy think he is? He really thinks he is some sort of chosen one doesn't he? He claims to only of had 7 bad games in 7 years, so by his math, in all the other games he plays spectacular. Bird, Magic, MJ, Kareem, etc. never said anything close to this and they were much more the player and a man than LBJ is.

Then once in Miami, he claims that his coach plays him 'too much.' Again, no superstar in any sport, ever, has said they they feel they are getting played too much. No one ever. Most people that have that drive for winning, for championships, want to be on the court or field at all times. They want to a part of every single aspect of their team's success. Don't get me wrong, Lebron wants to do that too, but only on his terms. When asked if he would modify his game to better suit the team, he plain and simple said "No. That would make me a role player." Aka, I'm too good for that. AKA I'm going to go out and do what I do.

Tony Massaratti had a great article about LBJ this week. He quoted a book by Bill Simmons I believe it was where Simmons compared LBJ to Wilt Chamberlain. He said they are both two of the most dominating players to ever pick up a basketball. But Wilt only one 2 championships, while other players won a lot more during the same era. The reason? Wilt and LBJ are all about themselves. They are the type of people that when closing in a triple double, one rebound short of 10, would intentionally miss a shot to get his own rebound for that triple double. They are playing for their own accolades and for their own legacy. But what Wilt didn't get and what LBJ hasn't figured out yet, is that yes you have ALL the tools in the shed, but you can't use the saw, hammer, screwdriver, etc. all all once. You have to let your co-workers chime in to make for a more efficient strategy.

And for some people to claim he's already a top5 or even the best player ever is completely absurd. Call me when he acquires a consistent midrange jump shot. Until then, he will always be a guy that gets his point by running to the hoop, taking contact, and getting 12-15 free throws per night. If the refs weren't so stuck on his jock strap, they guy would average 15ppg.

Sorry for the tirade but I personally think he is the most overrated player in the NBA, he undeservingly won the MVP last year (*cough* Kevin Durant *cough*), and will never rest the blame on his own shoulders because "it's ALWAYS the coaches fault. He's plays me too much!" Dude needs a reality check, actually no, he needs an intervention where we sit him down and explain to him that he's not actually God's gift to the NBA.

I thought it was strange how the boos and negative chants lasted well into the forth quarter after the game had already evolved into a blow-out.

Maybe Cavs fans will someday get over themselves?

I don't recall Toronto Raptors fans being so devastated at Bosh's free agency signing in Miami that they would go to such lengths to try and disrespect someone who was at one point their 'star player'.

As far as the actual game was concerned it almost seemed like LeBron was showing them mercy by how effortlessly he was scoring last night. If he can get the job done in such a hostile environment then that shows that the Miami Heat could be a very scary team once the playoffs start...

Cavs fans get over themselves?

Shouldnt LeBron get over himself?

This was Clevelands chance as a city to show LeBron how hurt they were at his "decision" I have no problem with their reaction. If they act that way 4 years from now it will seem petty but it is still fresh.

Who I realy feel bad for is the fans who had to see their Cavs somehow not get up for this game. They played harder on both of the Celtics games I watched this year. The Cavs got caught up in the hype of the game.

LeBron did too but rose to the occasion rather than wilting. He wanted to put on a show. Maybe he really could thrive as the villian.

I feel bad for the fans of the Cavs for having to watch an uninspired group of players they are paying big bucks to play at there best each time they're on the court.

I feel bad for the Cavs fans who witnessed BB.Gibson kissing(interacting) up to Lebron all evening.

I feel bad for the Cavs fan that had to sit through the worst beatdown of the season.

Lol "nothing negative".

He made his bed, he left town. He wasn't traded and he had a franchise that was doing everything it could to win a title.  He knew the reaction he would get from the fans. If he didn't, then he is the dumbest jock n the planet.

Best thing about this is he will never be in the class with the greats no matter how many rings he wins. They never had to pair up to get over the hump.

The media made you feel this way.  It's the same old story.

Person A is hyped for page views.
Person A embarrasses himself causing a backlash in which the media plays on for page views.
Person A is then shown as the victim of the backlash that they played up for page views.

Rinse repeat.

While I enjoy the drama that has developed around the southbeach fiasco, I don't blame LeBron for doing what he did. He doesn't owe Cleveland any more than the seven years he put in. The management couldn't put enough players around him to get him a ring - regardless of his limitations of a sometimes selfish, often quick-to-quit player.

I thought how he handled himself last night was absolutely remarkable. He played through the boos and really did a great job. I was really impressed.

All the best to cleveland in the coming rebuilding seasons but this chapter should be beginning to close.

How can you feel bad for a guy who has pretty much had people kissing his feet since he was 16 years old.

Part of it is that we made him who he is today by treating him like the next Michael Jordan.  We basically created the monster that is Lebron James.

The other part of it is that Lebron bought into it so much- that he truly believes he is some sort of savior or has a chance at being the best to ever play the game.

He doesn't he will never be Jordan- nor will he ever be as good as Jordan.   N& at this point it has been taken so far that Jordan felt the need to defend & separate himself not only from Lebron James THE BASKETBALL PLAYER but also from Lebron James THE PERSON.

If you have not seen it- below is MJ's response to the Lebron commercial

The self-procclaimed king of basketball is probably the biggest egomaniac and one of the most despicable characters in pro sports today. It is beyond me how anyone can feel badly for the guy. Even last night, he was smug and arrogant to the end. I loved his postgame interview with Craig Sager in which he talked about "continuing the greatness for myself in Miami."

The guy is an abo****e jerk and deserves everything he gets.

Why did the word "absolute" get edited?

I feel a lot worse for the people of Cleveland.

I admit I feel worse for him than that "quarterback" they have in Minnesota.

Because you have the word starting with abo and instead of abs, I have a feeling you moved the s down the word and it spelled a not so nice word

because you typed it abo$LUTe, instead of abSOlute...which creates a demeaning word towards a woman who puts out in the middle of your word haha.

That being said, I have never felt bad for LeBron, and I never will. He's embraced his role as a villain, and I must say, he's doing an amazing job with that role. He knows darn well that the NBA is as much entertainment as it is sport...and instead of going the route of being loyal to one city or doing the right thing, he has decided to attempt to go down in NBA history as the NBA's greatest villain. He has a lot of guts doing it, and it's generated a lot more hype and attention for him than staying in Cleveland ever would have.

To come into Cleveland with a smile on his face, do his powder routine, and then score his season high there is totally badass.

I want to feel bad for LeBron.  He goes from darling of NBA to top ten most hated athlete, almost overnight.  His new team in Miami, where he went to play with his friends, is struggling early in the regular season.  He gets booed out of the building in his old hometown, after a summer of seeing his old jerseys burned, banners torn down, and all manner of name-calling directed at him.  The Decision, as ill-advised as it was, was not malicious... isn't the reaction to it a little over the top?

But I can't feel bad for him, despite all that.  Every time I try, I remember (or he does something to remind me) why he's such an unlikable figure in the first place:  he's full of himself, childish, a quitter, and if lord forbid something ever goes wrong it's anyone's fault but his.  It rubs me the wrong way.

There are plenty of other folks in the world that I have no trouble feeling bad for, because they are sympathetic figures in rough situations that they didn't deserve.  Like Cleveland fans, for instance.
