I noticed he is on the Cavs roster, but he has very few minutes.  How is his health?  Is he competing with too many forwards? Is the tempo of Scot's team too fast to use him?  What gives?

Leon Powe is a very limited player and even more so after his injury.  And people wanted him over Baby. ???

They have two other PFs they want to play ahead of him.

On top of that, has anyone seen any proof that he regained his legs yet?

I don't know if he regained his legs, but he is playing.  He played in 6 games so far, all losses.

I just don't think Leon has been the same after surgery and has slipped in the depth chart.  Obviously, we can harp on Leon v. BBD all day, but I feel bad for Leon anyway and I wasn't even one of the ones complaining over Danny letting him go.  I just want good guys like him to do well.

He is a good guy.  For that I wish him well.

With Hickson and Jamison there, he's not likely to see significant minutes. Leon is much better off as a role player on a established team (as we know). I'm sure he's not 100% yet but i'd be surprised if he doesn't show nice improvement this year.

Who wants to bet that we will see Leon in green again sometime down the road.

Not if his loss of explosiveness is as bad as Cav's fans seem to think it is.

Lot of posts preseason about how slow he looked on the jump and loss of athleticism.

That was what, his 5th major knee operation before the age of 26? I hope i'm wrong because Leon is one of my alltime favorite Celtic bench hustle guys, but he may have had one surgery too many...

I watched two games where I saw him ge some floor time. He looked nothing like the Powe I saw in Boston.  :(

His knee injury was both more severe and more recent than KG's wasn't it? I don't know how much healthier he'll ever be, but if he were healthier near the end of the season or even next season it would not be outside a normal(ish) recovery time line.

I'm guessing that's why he took two years in CLE, money in the bank to recover. I'd guess he comes back pretty close to fully - but any team that gets him as a backup PF has to assume there is a significant chance of injury. I still think he will be a solid backup PF, he knows how to get to the line and is tough - those are skills that don't go away.

And multiple, if I'm not mistaken, he's had a complete knee replacement. That is a FAR different thing than a torn ACL, the ligament tears heal and strengthen over time, and you can recover to a near 100% (This is KG/Perk's injury) a knee replacement is very different. Your knee is gone, and you now basically have the equivalent a prosthetic holding you up; it will never be the same.

I could be way off base on this, but from my understanding, he's had multiple procedures on both knees, and at least one of them was a complete replacement.

I wouldn't mind signing him for the minimum if JO gets healthy and Baby wants money.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale
