I mean if your the other teams Gm. For the purpose of winning a title, how many guys that you would not trade straight up for Lebron.

 For me.
 Durant
 Westbrook
 Rose

Noah  [not losing a top five center)
 Gasol, Pau
 Kobe
 D Williams
 C Paul

 D Howard
 Pierce
 Allen
 Rondo
Garnett [the celts are trying to win now, for the sake of

winning now, no chemistry changes for the core unit]

That's thrirteen guys I turn dowm Lecon for right now.

Come on, I mean I know the Heat are struggling but this is getting ridiculous.

0, without a single thought elsewise.

If we were having an argument and you'd say Chris Paul and/or Dwight Howard I'd think you're wrong, but not crazy. Elsewise...

I'd consider Dwight Howard and Kevin Durant, then I'd laugh at myself for being silly and pick LeBron.

He's the best player in the game, and he's only 26 years old. He still has multiple years of his prime left.

Howard is the only one.

Why?  Because in most era's it is the best big men that win most the titles.  The one exception, Magic/Bird/Jordan era.

But two out of the three had top 50 all time big men on their teams.

This is probably a conversation for another thread, but I don't completely 'get' the Kevin Durant infatuation. I'll start off by saying that he's a terrific top 10 player. That being said, if I had my choice in players to start a franchise w/ I don't think I'd even consider him. He's an amazing scorer - despite his struggles I'd still consider him the best, but he's average in every other category: Defense, rebounding, ability to distribute, etc. All the other elite talent like Lebron, Howard, Paul, Wade etc are all superb multi-dimensional players.

Nobody -- LeBron is the best player in the game today.

Dwight Howard is the only individual player that would give me pause but given the rest of Orlando's squad, I would happily trade Dwight for LeBron. In large part due to the talent of backup center Marcin Gortat and also the plethora of shooters and tertiary scoring threats to surround James with.

It would depend upon what my team construction looks like, and what my immediate and long-term goals are.

For instance, if I'm the Miami Heat and have my choice of any player in the league to play beside Wade and Bosh, I'm not taking Lebron.  I'd prefer Howard, Durant, Chris Paul, and probably Deron Williams.  All of those guys would fill holes better than Lebron does, and would be more complimentary to Wade's and Bosh's game.

If I'm the NJ Nets, I wouldn't take anybody over Lebron.  He'd be able to single-handedly transform that franchise on both offense and defense.

If I were the Dallas Mavericks, I'd probably take Kobe, and maybe Howard, over Lebron.  They're close enough to a title that Kobe's killer instinct might be able to get them over the top.

If I were starting a franchise from scratch, I think I'd start with Durant.  He's an amazing offensive player, he seems like a good person, and he's coachable.  He doesn't have the all-around game that Lebron does, but I think he'll eventually develop it.
