He says he still has some pain in his feet when he wakes up, but the main pain is in his hamstring still.

That's not a good sign, especially if we go out west or play 5 games in 7 nights etc.

I think we need to have a watchful eye on Rondo.

Any sign of anything bad, take him out and rest him another 3 games.

Rondo should be getting weekly acupuncture treatments for his plantar fascitis and hamstring pain.

From what I understand, plantar fasciitis is difficult to heal and treatments are not guaranteed to work. I'm sure he has been getting treatment other than rest, but it's just not working. Playing with PS won't make it any worse, he will only be playing with pain. It may not even prevent healing. Eli Manning played with it for most of a season one year. Orthodics and new sneakers or foot wraps may help with the pain, but won't eliminate it altogether. If it only hurts him in the morning, then he will be fine sooner rather than later.

As for the hamstring, that's simply inexcusable. Although it was a nice surprise to see him play Friday, it seems like they should have kept him out, especially with the three off-days following. He is more in the wrong than the training staff, as he should know his body better than anyone.

Let Nate and Avery man the PG spot for a little longer if Rondo is preventing himself from improving and/or increasing his risk for a more serious injury.

If not, let him play through it.

Mixed reports...now apparently it is Rondo's feet that is bothering him, according to Doc.

Rivers said starting point guard Rajon Rondo’s(notes) left hamstring is no longer an issue, but his sore left foot still remains troublesome.

“The foot is the bigger issue. The hamstring (injury) is gone for the most part,” Rivers said.

Not discrediting what Eli Manning did or that Football is a whimpy sport...it's not, but running in basketball is a lot more stressful on the feet than playing quarterback, IMO.

If there is too much stress on Rondo's foot he could have the plantar fascia ligament tear or rupture.

Neither one will heal by playing basketball, I guarrantee that..! All that matters is we arrive in the playoffs HEALTHY, so rest the guy.....the hamstring will only get worse, stage 1, it hurts like heck, you cannot stand on it, or sit on it, stage 2, it changes color, swells, hurts MORE (don't ask how I know)...it can take a guy his age at least a month to heal the hammy, the foot, if it is the same leg...they are related, all nerves and tendons up to your lower back are related...play Bradley, Nate, Wafer, MD..This is docs weak spot.....He ain't gonna heal the hammy by running and jumping.....that is for sure..!!!

Luckily Rondo does things 5 times as fast as the average person. He' probably already been healed for days.
