Most Dunks Ever by a Celtics Team?

I meant to post this Friday night, but got a little sleepy.  While the Celts were working the alley oop left and right on the porous Raptors D it dawned on me that I could not ever remember a Celtics team having so many dunks in one game.  KG, Shaq and even Semih got in the act.  There's no statistical breakdown on dunks, but if memory serves the Celts had about a dozen dunks Friday.  66 points in the paint! 

I don't think Toronto is necessarily the greatest testing ground for measuring a great interior offense, but it's still impressive - and encouraging.  Layups and dunks in abundance are going to win a lot of games, hopefully buy us a top seed, and pay dividends in the playoffs.

Plus, it's fun to watch.

I agree, Redz.  Points in the paint are the most fun to watch, and...they often result in a trip to the line as well.

I don't know about ever, but it's been impressive.  KG is 12th and Shaq is 15th in terms of dunks this year.  (Semih and Pierce are both in the top-100, but much farther down.)

A basket is a basket to me.  I mean dunks are exciting but at the end of the game, they are only two points.  Still taking high percentage shots is always a good idea.

Dunks are actually a more important stat than they'd seem. Look at the top of the list: Blake Griffin, Dwight Howard, Amare Stoudamire, Javale McGee, Kevin Durant... generally players with elite athleticism for their position.

I think Garnett's increase in particular is a really good sign. I can't find full stats for last year but he wasn't in the Top 50. This combined with his increase in rebounds are very good signs that he's closer to the old KG.

     I thought talk of Garnett's explosiveness this year was hogwash at the beginning of the year but he's looking much better to me now. He's got a lot of that quickness back. I wasn't sure we were gonna see that crazy KG up scrambling pressuring point guards full court again.He's makin' me giddy. He had one particular angry dunk I loved vs. Toronto.

There's absolutely nothing prettier than a Rondo to KG alley oop, and I thinnk we saw it about 4 times the other night (one was ray to kg). The one to Shaq even looked nice.
