This bench just isn't good enough. We used to get great play off the bench during the championship season. Now...not so much.
It bears repeating that this is not the bench that was meant to be. JO: hurt. West: suspended/hurt. Perk: 'habbing. Semih: hurt but playing. Quis: now you see him now you dont. Doc might be better off doing more mix/matching with bench/starters but what can reasonably be expected?

Why exactly should anyone expect JO to be healthy and effective? There was major risk in signing him in the first place.

I like Daniels, but it is dear now that he is a trick or treat player. Tonight he has pretty much given nothing.

When Perk is back, West is back, JO is back... the bench looks to be a little better, wouldn't you think?  Right now, the bench is out of synch an I agree that BBD and Erden aren't clicking together.  But, the potential depth of this bench is clearly better than in '07.

And, baby has had a very nice game tonight.

we really miss west and JO

Yeah, it's a much better bench with those two.

It is still not as good as when we had Posey.
we haven't had the full bench yet.  I would say this bench would be far better when healthy:
A better BBD, Shaq/JO/Erdin is better than Powe/PJ, Nate/Delonte/Daniels/Wafer is better than House/Posey/Cassell.

I don't agree. I think House (2 years agoi) and Posey are better than West, Robinson, and Daniels. Posey was better than any one of those guys.
Posey was a terrific bench guy but he's over romanticized here.  I'd take a healthy West and Daniels over Posey and Nate over House.

This game has been so much harder than it should have been. The defense coni use to be a big concern to me.  Too many teams are putting up 100 points on the celts.

Well, you can start a thread on that. The point is that Erden was insurance, not rotation material, which for better or worse, we have had to cash in on.

BBD has been so-so.  his D has been ok but the rebounding has been lousy.  He's been good when set up underneath but lousy with his outside shot and in the post

Strange that they make rookie mistakes like fouling late when up 8.  No need for that.  Let Klieza shoot that.

Doc needs to do a better job of rotations.  Ray can't be playing 40+ mpg until Delonte gets back.  Either play Wafer or Bradley OR figure out a way to get Marquis 25+ mpg where he's backing up Pierce and Allen (and keeping them around 35 mpg).

hmmm... baby sure does take a lot of shots. he's got 16 attempts right now. only KG (with 18) has more. and that's off a lot of oops and dunks.

In other news, Shaq may break 70% shooting from the field this season.

I think that's a key to the second unit's offensive problems.  when he's used as the primary scoring option off the bench, the bench is ineffective on offense.  when the second unit spreads the shot attempts around, they're far more effective.  of course, having Delonte in the game helps in that regard.
