Don't panic he isn't going to be gone for the year

Having broken the same wrist already, I think there would be extra healing required and possibly even surgery.

This is probably a more daunting find than a reassuring one.

I wouldn't be surprised if he don't come back until St Patricks Day. This has not been a very healthy start to the season.

Depends on the severity whether it is weeks or months.  All bone breaks are not the same so his past injury experience is irrelevant. 6 weeks is typically a best case scenario for a broken wrist.

I'd be fine with 12 weeks. We just need him for the playoffs.

It's not his shooting hand thankfully.

Yea. He'll probably get back on the court much faster because of this.

I hope this isnt sarcasm because that doesn't translate onto a computer screen. I dont see the fact that it's his right hand gettin him back much faster but it's definately a bright spot in all of this

He could come back sooner because it's not his shooting hand.

He will require less rehab for it because he is only dribbling with his right. All of his shots and the majority of his passes come from his left.

Whether it makes him return quicker or not, it is definitely the silver lining.

the scary thing is that when this happened, I had visions of the same thing happening to Rondo considering how many times he gets knocked to the floor.

That would put an end to the C's season if that, or something similar, came to pass.

The odd part about it was that West (seemingly) came down on his left side, but his right wrist took the brunt of the fall.

Rondo absorbs his falls, and wears enough padding to limit the damage. I'd be more concerned about an Iverson-esque breakdown over the long haul for Rondo rather than a freak accident like West suffered. West's right wrist was previously injured so it has to be weaker.

Delonte seems abnormally fragile in the hand and wrist area.  It seems like every year he breaks something in that location.  He is the Greg Oden of hand/wrist injuries.  We will miss him, he was playing great.

This is very sad to see. We seem to be losing our depth very quickly. Handling injuries are becoming as much a chess-match as the games themselves.  :(

Tanguay said it is a compound fracture and he could quite possibly be gone for the year.  Let's hope Tanguay is wrong as usual.
