They need a point guard and rebounder in the worst way (much like Miami).  Remember they passed up drafting Rondo for Balkman? LOL  Didn't they also pass up Brandon Jennings for Gallinari?

I expected more out of Felton. He has been disappointing.

Amar'e hasn't been good this year, Felton seems to be doing about what he always has in my eyes. Never really liked him.

The whole team has been disappointing. Amare has played subpar, I never thought Felton was the right fit for this Knicks team and he has been performing under par as well. Galinarri has been terrible, the only player that has played well so far has been Wilson Chandler.

I love how Amare is already "complaining" or just talking about the Knicks poor mentality. Quotes from after their game last night...


"I don't understand why we're not playing with the urgency. I'm not used to that," the Knicks' $100 million man said. "We're not playing like we're on a four-game losing streak, now five. We don't have that sense of urgency. It's almost as if it doesn't matter and it's not something I'm used to."

I've watched a few Knicks games this year, and my impression is that their offense seems to alternate between chucking 3s and Amar'e trying to bull his way through 2-3 defenders and toss the ball in the general direction of the hoop.  Felton is pretty good in transition but is a poor passer and decision maker in half-court sets.  Very little flow or execution, and their defense and rebounding remain mediocre at best. 

On the plus side Mozgov looks like he could develop into a solid paint presence on D, and Gallinari has recovered somewhat from an awful start.  They're able to get leads but don't have the defensive chops to keep them.  If they can improve their efficiency on offense and show more effort on defense, they can make the playoffs in the East.  But they're still quite a ways away from that.

That would have been acceptable.


They passed on Jennings for Hill.

Amar'e was never going to be a difference maker, if they are able to pull off the whole Paul/Anthony acquisition then look out, if not they will remain garbage.

I expect the Knicks to be very active post December 15th when they can start dealing the players they signed in the offseason.

I wouldn't be surprised if Melo was part of their team before the deadline.

Nix gambled by clearing cap space for Lebron. Donnie Walsh did a great job, and while he did not get LBJ, Amare was a great consolation prize. He is not going to turn them around by himself, but if they can figure a way to get a great PG, and a HC or assistant who knows how to implement great team defense, they have a good future.

I agree if they find themselves unable to deal for Melo. They'll save all their assets for that deal first.

Is it possible they might have enough assets for both? I'm not familiar with what Walsh and company have in the pantry. Curry's expiring deal, Gallo, Chandler, . . . ?
