He didn't look good at all in preseason action, however limited it was.
I honestly don't think this was a good pick, but I hope I'm wrong.
Based on the scouting report, his strengths and weaknesses resemble Rondo's. The tools may be present to perform at Rondo's ability athletically, but not so much as a PG. There is something about this kid that seems like he was a red flag from the get-go. It could be his injury history.
My understanding is that unlike Rondo, he has a midrange jumper but he doesn't see the floor like Rondo.
Offensivesly: He has a deadly pull-up jumper from midrange, is better catching and shooting from outside, has a good handle on the ball, but is usually looking more for his own shot.
Defensively: He’s a shut down guy, who can force turnovers, come up with those same types of Rondo and Delonte blocks, plus he’s an athletic body who can finish on the break.
Overall, i’d say he’s more Tony Allen with a midrange game.
According to all the rookies who played against him he’s really something special both athletically and defensively.
