There are only two ways a coach with any nuts would respond to this:

1) Let Lebron sit on the bench next to the coach for significant parts of a game, or all of a game.  Let him compete for 6th man of the year instead of MVP if he can't handle minutes in big games.

2) Work his pansy ass off in practice until his conditioning is sufficient to  play the wing in the NBA.

And in either case, it must be made clear that this is done in direct response to his PUBLIC comments about playing too many minutes of the greatest game in the greatest league ever.

I'd love to see this happen, but wrist slaps to super stars do not happen in the NBA.

[Seems like he wants to get rid of Spoelstra - and this is the 1st shot.

Actually, it's at least the second shot.  Remember what he said after the loss to Utah?  That Sloan knew what they were going to run?  Totally dissing of Spoelstra's plays...

Lebron is a complete jackass...self-righteous, over-indulged, and extremely adolescent-minded.

Glad someone else bought this up. That's at least 2 backhanded comments from LBJ against Spoelstra following 2 losses. Also, Wade made a comment along the lines of "Lebron had it going, so that made it hard for me to get opportunities." Hmm, sounds like a ballhog insinuation to me... Maybe I'm just a conspiracy theorist, but there seems to be some tensions brewing in Miami...

Now all we need is Haslem to come out and ask "When is Bosh gonna give us back his $110 million?!"

This is great. The implosion starts here and the team will start pointing fingers at each other if they don't start beating some good teams real soon.
Back to wanting Joe fired.

I don't think I have EVER heard an NBA player complain about too many minutes, I've never even heard old injured veterans complaining about too many minutes.  This is outrageous.  Lebron's an amazing player, but really?  too many minutes?  tell that to guys in the Dleague, rookies on the end of the bench, tell that to guys begging for an opportunity.  ok im going back to work.  I work too many hours ;)

In fairness to Lebron, Paul Pierce has said the exact same thing on behalf of himself and Ray, talking about the need to limit minutes so that he wasn't fatigued for the playoffs.

Of course, the difference is that Paul didn't use minutes as as excuse for losing a game.  Rather, he was talking about it in the context of preserving energy for the long haul.  Lebron is just looking for something to blame.

Someone find (before using this person in a positive manner, I need to throw-up  :o) me a time when KoMe Bryant (at LeBronda's age to boot) complaining about too many minutes. I remember hearing many times that Phil had to MAKE KoMe sit when he was injured b/c he would not quit no matter what! This guy is what...26? Boy please, stop w/ the BS... you're just trying to get that dude fired! 44 minutes is NOT a lot in the "bigger" games!! I thought this was a "king"... kings don't hand over "power" to the scrubs, must have just been his Halloween costume?
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

I can understand where Lebron is comming from, while many think its because Lebron can't go 44mins a game because of the strain to his body, i doubt thats it.

When you hear someone like Clyde Drexler talk about going with the US nationals a season, then comming home to a season starting up and feeling completly mentaly drained for another long season, i think that holds merit.

Take a look at Kevin Durant fx, he hasnt been hitting on all cylinders so far, same with Chauncy Billups.

I think in the case of Lebron the stress of the offseason and the way things has been going so far, will leave him mentaly worn down.

Yep.  You think Lebron would have complained about minutes if they had won?  Heck no.

brilliant and a BIG tp!!
What did Hondo average for mpg in his final season and WHAT age??
I'm sure steve nash at his age now playing the posistion he plays, sometimes with broken nose, feels the same way  ::)
:-*  ahh Lebron, best thing that could have happened to him was Cleveland keep Paul Silas on as head coach way back when, he's been coddled all his career
apparently lebron also wants to coach team, Riley should step in and give james a serious talking, imagine him dealing with pat ewing, magic johnson (think of the players he's had coaching!!) and this never proven anything player is talking to the media and already making excuses
I cringed when Davis talked about not knowing his role to media and danny & doc and even players were right on that comment
think 76rs, what year..75? lots of talent and imploding team, i think we are going to see wade getting very unhappy with the team and his "king" this year

So, apparently he ment that he could play 48 minutes if needed only when they were blowing the other team out?

This is about as clear proof to me that LeBron isn't a "winner" or "leader" and looking to cast blame on anyone but himself.   In Ohio, he was second to God, he isn't in Florida and won't get away with this for long.  When the going gets tough, LeBron gets whining or quits.  As for stress this guy is fairweather as it gets.   When things are going well he is golden, when they are not he wilts.

Today's players are so mentally weak compared to the Hondo's of the world.  Its night and day really.  They get a hangnail nowadays and they don't play.

Hondo led the league in minutes in '70-71 and 71-72 averaging over 45 mpg at age 30-31.

In his final season, age 37, he played 34.1 mpg (and played in all 82 games).

thank you for the stats
think of all the great players rolling their eyes at how lebron acts
think bird would complain to the MEDIA about kc running the starters into the ground?
cowens waving his hand, "coach i'm tired"
james deserves the flak he gets, poor character
god what must riley be thinking? he's probably relishing his days with miami title team and dreaming of magic, worthy and the laker crew he had
