I know various posters have asked for a Links section, so I'm creating this thread for links to non-blog, basketball-related resources.  If there's a site you go to often that's particularly interesting, please post it here.  Please do not post links to basketball blogs; this thread is for resources only.  Links to other blogs will be deleted.

Here's a list to get things started:

basketball-reference.com This site has everything.  Career statistics, box scores, awards, Hall of Fame probability, player comparisons, etc.

Larry Coon's Salary Cap FAQ Everything you need to know about the Collective Bargaining Agreement.  Thanks to petula for reminding me about this one.

Professional Basketball Transactions Archive Search pretty much every NBA transaction ever.

nbadraft.net: Draft site, with mock drafts and information about prospects

draftexpress.com Draft site, with mock drafts and information about prospects

RealGM trade checker The original "trade checker"; see if salaries match before posting a trade in the forums.

ESPN Trade Machine A new and improved trade checker from ESPN.com

Hoopshype team salaries page Team and player salaries now and in the future, including team and player options, etc.

Hoopsstats.com Game Logs The site has a whole lot of great info, including game logs that go back to 1997-98.

82games.com Basketball for stats geeks; lots of interesting stuff here.

NBA hot zones  See how your favorite players shoot from various areas of the floor.

popcornmachine.net Check out NBA game flows, to see how a team did when your favorite player was in or out of the game.

Celtics.com Draft Lottery Demystified Comprehensive look at the Celtics chances in the 2007 lottery.

Status of the Timberwolves pick A full breakdown of our rights to a future Twolves #1, from the Wally / Ricky trade.  Please note that some of the info on this page is outdated, but is still accurate as to the Twolves pick.

Celtics Stats Central Various links to Celtics records and statistics.  Some of these aren't as up to date as they should be.

Celtics retired numbers, Hall of Famers and championships These three should be self-explanatory.

Please feel free to suggest others below.  If anybody wants to start a similar thread for particularly good blogs, please feel free to do so.  Also, users can suggest and add links to our Bookmarks Section, linked in the tab menu below the Celticsblog banner at the top of the page.  I'll move these links there eventually, but I'm feeling lazy at the moment. ;)

http://www.knickerblogger.net/stats/2007/I actually find this to be the most complete list of statistics from the last year.  Has Hollinger, per 40, pace, etc.  It is very in depth.  I know it is a blog, but still I think it is helpful for what you are looking for
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Why don't you just go to the Bookmarks area of CelticsBlog? What is the Bookmarks area? I'm not sure how many CelticsBloggers know just yet. It is an extremely powerful web links directory component plugged into this website. Thousands of sites around the world use it. Any CelticsBlog member can add bookmarks (web links) to CelticsBlog.

There is a Basketball Resources section there that now contains most of the links listed in this thread and even though the Bookmarks area is the least developed area of CelticsBlog (we've been trying to get to it), it already has close to 300 web links of interest to CB members and visitors in it. That mark will soon explode.

By the end of this summer, we hope the Bookmarks Directory to be an extremely rich resource for CelticsBlog. If any of you CB members have quality websites you think would be of interest to the CB community, you can add them right in there and contribute to the enterprise.

I'll try to make time to explain the Bookmarks site feature and your options with it, in the "Website Features" board here. I never seem to be able to get around to doing what I intended with that one, but here's hopin'. Anyway, if you can figure out how to use it for now, you can add website links over there..."Happy, happy, joy, joy." - Stimpy the Cat

Not really info based, but a very fun website is www.whatifsports.com.  You can take two teams of any year and put them against each other.  I've set up battles between Bird's Celtics of the 80s and MJs Bulls of the 90s.
do it

It might not be a bad idea for us to add a recreational links category in the directory for sites like the one you've mentioned. If I don't do that soon, remind me.

I added this one to the links directory and added you, FLCeltsFan, as the owner of the link. I just noticed that this site is an expanded version of BasketballReference.com that makes provision for other sports. Same people.

ahh I've never really explored much more of the site because I've just bookmarked it off a google search.
FYI FLCeltsFan is a different person  ;)

EEEEEKKK! What was I thinking? Obviously, I did this before my life force had been restored this morning by a cup of expresso. I will make the necessary corrections. When I do, then you will be the owner of that particular link and will be able to manage any changes needed for it. Thanks for the heads up.
