In some ways they did - LeBron leaving lit a fire under that team and that city.  There's no question that Miami is a better team than Cleveland, but Cleveland will continue to overachieve as long as they keep playing with major chips on their shoulders.

Honestly I would have to say yeah. I think when a guy turns his back on you and you suddenly realize you are responsible for the success of your team and there are no more excuses players can get a put up or shut up mentality.  Also maybe they had more heart than Lebron and others gave them credit for all along.

Conversely (but Magic Converse. The fruity yellow ones in this case. Not Bird's black ones) the Heat are definitely looking like their hearts are still on Miami beach and that they just sorta expected someone to hand them the trophy or something. I think they all may have sighed a breath of relief thinking "Now I will definitely get a lot of rings and I won't have to do as much cause there's two other all stars here"

So I guess I'll go with yes

I think the Cavs will surprise a lot of people and make the playoffs.  But they aren't better than Miami.

I'd love to see a Cavs-Heat first round series, and it's not looking that unlikely.  I'd probably have to boycott ESPN for the duration of it though, they'd practically be peeing their pants over that matchup.

They Heat have played a tougher schedule, have more wins, and both really only have one good win each. (I think beating Orlando so badly is more impressive than beating Boston on a back to back)

I know you love your hyperbole eja117, but the Cavs will struggle to stay .500. The Heat are going to be a top 3 seed in the East.

I'm not saying the Cavs are better. I think it's fairly likely Miami will figure things out and become pretty good, while the Cavs will hover at .500 or something.

I'm saying I think the Cavs have more heart, toughness,and motivation.  I guess maybe motivation is up for debate, but not when they play each other.

Also the Cavs have a known quitter. That's not heart.

I give you superior. Almost certainly by the end of the season. Far superior by the end of the season is definitely possible.  But right now today we just saw the Cavs beat them, so I'm no so sure. More talented? Probably. I'm not so sure they are playing superior basketball. By the end of the season, probably yes. But maybe not now.

Cleveland certainly plays the Celtics better thus far. I like their future. I also think Byron Scott is a better coach.

Miami will tune up Cleveland when they play head to head. 

Miami is the better team.  People just love tossing dirt on the Heat right now.  The reality is that they will be a top 3 team in the East when all is said and down.  Cleveland will be nowhere near that.

Cavs arent as bad as people make them out to be. It appeared in the offseason a lot of people forgot how good of a player Jamison is. Williams is a great scorer, Varejo can play Hickson is a young upcoming with tons of potential, Moon is a good role guy who plays good defense. They certianly arent a championship contender but a lot of poles had them last in the east. With teams like philly, toronto, and the nets Im not so sure that is true.
