Just saw on espn he left the game with a sprained left foot, the same foot that was injured last year. That really sucks for the rockets and ming. He will never be the same player again with those feet.

On a side note, any chance shane battier becomes available if the rockets continue to struggle? He would be a perfect fit for the c's off the bench

Nate and Erden for Battier?

Do they know if it is a serious injury or a minor injury?

Bummer.  I always feel bad for Yao.
When I'm in the gym...I like to grunt when  I get my swell on... That way everyone can see how jacked and tan I am.

Oh gosh. Yao got hurt. Who would have thought? Little earlier than usual this time.Oh my God. They killed Kenny. You Edited for profanity.  Please do not do it again..

Did you hear that. The sound of 1 billion chinese saying "Not again!"

Next week the premier will call Obama and say "We're very concerned with Yao" and he will say "So am I. I am also concerned with your record on human rights"

Then the premier says "Oh here we go again." and Obama says "Hey how do you think I feel"

ESPN saying it's a leg injury (left leg). Not a foot injury. It doesn't sound serious.

Houston is really surprisingly bad.  I don't get it.  Even without Yao, their roster should be better than this.

The downgrade from Trevor Ariza to Courtney Lee is a big one.

The Rockets are a 35 win team without Yao.

----------------------------------------------

A couple of other factors in their slow start:

(1) Yao is 9th in minutes played

(2) Houston are playing a run and gun style game-plan which doesn't suit their starting frontcourt of Battier, Scola and Yao (+ B.Miller backup C). This isn't the Rockets of last season ... Adelman doesn't have a roster required for this type of game plan. Slow the game down and their performance will improve, especially on the defensive side of the floor (particularly Battier + Yao).

(3) K.Martin's and Battier's minutes have been lowered

(4) Kyle Lowry has missed some early games and the far less effective Ishmael Smith has played in his place. And now Brooks has gone down too. So their 1-2 punch at the point that was so effective from last season hasn't been in place often enough this year.

Yeah, I was thinking it was probably the same thing, a combination of injuries and not really knowing what kind of team they want to be with Yao back + their other new players.

Nate and Erden for Battier?
No thanks to that trade proposal.  There is much more security in having Nate and Erden, with the unreliability of Delonte and the ONeals to be in uniform on any given night.
