I hope both will start the allstar game in LA, Rondo was the best PG last year and this year so far in the East but Rose got more votes than him, I hope Rondo is more liked by fans outside Boston. KG had alot more votes than Bosh last year, the only threat to him not starting is Stoudamire who started for the West last year but got less votes than KG.

Rose will probably still start, but no mistake Rondo will be there.

Both are locks for the all-star game if they continue to play like they have been. (or even a little worse)

Both are definitely locks to be on the All-Star team at this point.  Starting, that is another matter.

KG's biggest opposition will be Bosh and Stoudemire. KG's name still carries a lot of weight with fans, but enough to ovecome the hype from Miami, I'm not sure.  If the vote was up to coaches, KG wins hands down.  The fans may see things differently though.  Plying next to LeBron and Wade will get Bosh a lot of votes.  Stoudemire plays in NY, and that is a pretty big market, with a lot of visiblity.

As for Rondo, Rose will be his biggest opposition.  Rose scores more points, has flashier highlights, and seems to be hyped a little more by the media.  Rondo has been getting his fair share of media attention lately though, so it will be interesting to see who is more popular with the fans.  Rondo (the better player) or Rose (the more hyped player).

Rose will beat Rondo in the voting handily.

KG should still beat out Amar'e and Bosh, but the New York thing could push him ahead. Which is funny because Amar'e has played like crap this year.

I'd love to see 4 of our 5 starters in the All-star game, regardless who starts.

Ray's not going to make it this year unless he picks up his game somewhat. He's not too far off of last year's production, but he got left off last year.....

Pierce should definitely make it again though. (again if he keeps his start up)

Rose will beat Rondo in the voting handily..

Im not sure if I believe this, but if it does play out this way, itsure will be sad.  Rondo is clearly the better overall player, but because the media loves to hype the "flashy" players, fans are misled to believe certain players are better than others.

A perfect example would be Vince Carter.  For years, the media loved to hype this guy, because he had all these fantastic looking dunks.  In reality, Pierce was always the better player but never got the adulation of the fans that Vince did.

I think Rondo is getting as much hype as Rose overall so far this season.

Chicago is a big market and Rose is a scorer and the clear number one option on his team. Fan voting usually puts those guys ahead of passers like Rondo who aren't scorers.

Oh and when it comes to voting they don't separate guards from PGs right?

Vince Carter and Wade could easily start this year.

You may be right about Rondo getting as much hype as Rose, he has been getting more and more recognition lately.

But if the casual fan thinks that scoring is the only thing that makes a player "elite", that is just wrong in my opinion.

Then again, I guess I shoulsn't be surprised.  Iverson, of all people, was a starter on last years All-Star team.  I don't think any astute NBA fan would argue he deserved to even be on the team, let alone start.

Doesn't Rondo show up on enough highlights these days where casual fans are starting to recognize him for the player he is?  He's also played a lot more games in May/June than Rose has.

Yeah, forgot about that.  I could definitely see Vince somehow still managing to garner an absurd amount of votes, Iverson did it just last year.

Rondo deserves to be on the All-Star team--and will be there--for sure, but I want him a little hungry still for another year.  Let him bring his shooting up a little before he gets to start.

We could have the situation of starting five Hall of Famers -- but no one starting in the all-star game.

Rondo is earning a starting spot, but Wall could easily take it and be deserving as well.  He is putting up 19 and 10 with a handful of steals each game.  All from a 20 year old rookie.

Derick Rose will be lucky to make it as the 3rd point guard.

As for KG, let him rest.  Amare will enjoy the spotlight.
