KG is back

I just want to make the point to all the people who said KG was old and he was done, that they were wrong. Yes, it's early in the season, but it is 100% clear that we have vintage KG back this year, and along with him our title hopes. He is explosive, fast, and full of energy, tearing it up on both ends of the floor. I remember people saying he would never get double digit rebound games anymore, that those days were gone. Well, he had 15 rebounds last night, and he's averaging 10 for the season so far. He also had 3-4 great ally-oop dunks last night as well. It's clear, as Ainge and others were saying last year, that KG needed a year to recover from the knee injury. He is far from done. This is the revenge year for KG!!

TP...i agree but im keeping my fingers crossed that he stay  healthy thru the entire season.I never felt KG was/is to old. There are players older than KG still playing at a high level in the NBA .For example,G. Hill,age 37(last season)a player that has gone through far more injuries in his career than KG but has played some of his best bball after age 35.Some CB posters were  hoping Danny would've signed him to the Celtics last season.KG was 32 when his injury happen'd but many wanted to give him his AARP papers.KG has a lot left in the tank as long as his legs hold up.A player can be in his 20's and end up with knee problems.Im glad he's back on track and hope he takes his game to another level by playoff time.His abilitiy to play defense at a higher level will be a key to winning #18.

I wouldn't say he's "back", if you're referring to 07-08 KG, but he's definitely healthier and more explosive than he was last year.  But if this was 2008 KG, Dirk does not dominate the end of the game like he did last night.

I like what I see from KG so far.  Lets see if he can keep it going.

He certainly looks a lot better now.  I'm pretty happy with what I've seen out of him so far.  He'll never be KG Prime again but I'm glad to see he still has plenty left in the tank.

I thought he was starting to turn the corner during last year's playoffs and we saw bits & pieces of it.  This season, he just looks more confident and aggressive so far.

Yeah completely agree here. I love the fact that we can give KG the ball in the post and he now has back his entire arsenal of moves down there. Last season it was fadeaway jump shot or nothing. This year he can face up and actually has the speed and quickness to get to the basket. Its very nice having him back and it appears that he is going to stay healthy. He looks like he is in great shape and has no second thoughts about jumping off that knee or anything. great great stuff. Also love the explosiveness. He is back to throwing the ball down and finishing, last year he was clanking dunks and missing easy bunnies that should have been throw downs but he couldnt get off the ground enough.

I think he looks as good as he has since coming here ... elevation, foot-speed, mobility, shooting stroke, defensive abilities, etc., and after going through what he has recently, his confidence and emotional rebound from rehab, rounds it all off in a great way.

To have this kind of renaissance at his age can even add to his game and abilities on the court. I would have to agree ... KG is indeed back, (but I say that with caution, and with my fingers crossed).

Seeing how he is playing right now makes me appreciate seeing him limping around last year, determined to play.

If he would've asked Doc, I'm sure he would've allowed him to sit more last year.

KG is made of Rare Stuff. You don't find his kind around much anymore. And probably never will again.

Glad to have him back. I hope he paces himself though - June is a long ways from now.
