The guy has been a huge bully (Not to mention a theatrical ****).

Is that you Quentin Richadson?

I love the celtics but honestly screw K.G. He went too far with that.  The guy has been a huge bully since we won in 08. I can almost guarentee he would never say anything like that to the likes of Pau Gasol or Dirk Nowitzki because they would simply outplay him and make him eat his words. He is frustrated because he is no longer the player he used to be so he takes it out on weaker players. Just Cowardly IMO.

Wouldn't say that to Pau? He has had at a go at Pau on numerous occasions. I guess KG's been frustrated for the past 10 years or so....because he's been doing that for a VERY long time now. I wouldn't put it past him to trash talk even after he retires. I can see him sitting courtside and watching the Celtics play some team, maybe 6-7 years from now, and still running his mouth off. Its just who he is...

With all due respect...  But I'm not sure someone can say they love the Celtics and throw KG under the bus like this.  I'm also trying to see the difference between what KG said and the tone of your post.

maybe the tone of my post is a bit aggressive since it's coming from someone with a physical illness like Charlie V. I know exactly how he must have felt when K.G. said that and it made me furious.

I've always turned my back on KG's childish antics but this one just got under my skin.

Oh well....at least we have Rays mature and proffesional attitude to balance out KG's immaturity...GO CELTS!!!

Yes, KG looked pretty timid in the playoffs last year, hardly mustering the courage to open his mouth...

But see he didn't say it to you...or to some random cancer patient...or to any random person suffering with any ailment. He said it in the heat of the moment...during a basketball game to his opponent...on the court. No big deal, imo.

Yes but obviously Charlie V. was upset about it if he took the time to rant about it on twitter. It was something he was obviously insecure about and KG attacked that insecurity.I get that it was the heat of the moment but if you are going to trash talk, talk about the opponents crappy play, which is what really matters in a basketball game not how he resembles a dying man. That was just a weak comment by KG.

I've called Charlie V a cancer patient looking MOFO many many times. So I really don't care. It's called trash talking for a reason. If Charlie V HAD cancer, then it would have been too far.

I recommend no one on this forum play a pick up game in a black neighborhood. Judging from most of these comments, they will end up running off crying calling their therapist.

I understand what you're saying...but sledging/trash talking doesn't really follow any rules.

Right, I also don't think this whole heat of the moment thing can be a legit excuse.  If I got into an argument and in the heat of the moment told a man with a disease that didn't allow him to grow hair that he looked like a cancer patient that would be considered offensive by most people.  Regardless of it being on a basketball court or being in a bar it is still not the correct way to talk to people.    In the heat of the moment if I chose to punch a guy in the face is that still acceptable? Just because it's the heat of the moment?  In the heat of the moment if I call someone a racial slur, is that acceptable?  Again, just because it's in the heat of the moment?

I didn't scan the whole thread to see if it is elsewhere, but here Adrian Wojnarowski's take.  Pretty scathing.  I'm not sure this is going to tarnish KG;s legacy in the popular fandom's mind.

Cancer or not, it's too far because he has a disease which makes him look like that.  There is nothing he can do about it.

Welcome to the world of basketball. Your trash talking is obviously weak.

Well, you're both kind of right I think. Poor comment choice by KG in terms of civility and overall "goodness", but he said something to an opponent he knew would bother him.

If Charlie Villinuava had fingers that were fused together, he'd have called him "Lobster Boy".

If CV had dandruff problems, he'd have called him "Frosty The Dandruff Guy" (KG's not great with puns)

If CV had a bad case of arachnophobia, KG would've dressed like a spider.

You may see it as tasteless, and in an objective environment, I agree with you. But what happens on the court between two guys is business between gladiators for my money. If KG throws a back hand into a guy's nuts when the ref isn't looking is that any worse? Either he's a dirty player, or he's veteran saavy, depending on which team you root for.

Its called trash talk....its never the correct way to talk to people. I'm sure KG doesn't refer to Charlie V in that fashion off court..it happened on the court...during a game...not in a bar.

So because his words come under the definition of "trash talk" it's okay?  You just said it's never the correct way to talk to people, so why does it make it okay if it's considered "trash talk"?
