Rondo might get fewer assists on a less talented team, but his scoring average would go way up. Plus he'd still get plenty of assists. He'd have the ball much more often on a worse team, so he'd get more shots and more chances to pass to teammates. Even if they were less able to convert those scoring chances.

Crownsy - Good point, but to turn it around; if Rondo played for a bad team, how many people here honestly think he would be a star right now?  He has talent for sure, but I'm going to say he would not be in any discussions concering best point guards in the league at this stage, because he still needs to develop his game a bit.

  I think he'd be seen as more of a star because he'd score more, just like he does when KG or PP are injured. I think, at this point, people have things a little turned around. At this point in their careers the big three are better because they play with Rondo more than the other way around. Look at the kind of shots he gets them.

While his numbers are great, I would say he is playing with better players around him, and shooting/scoring less, in comparision to Magic and Stockton. Stock used to put up 13 dime while scoring 18 points on average.  Magic played with some talented teams, but what if Stockton had Paul, Ray, KG, Shaq, JON to pass to?  I am by no means a Rondo hater, but you just need to be objective sometimes.

  None of our guys are in their primes. How do you think Rondo would do with a 27 year old Karl Malone?

He's just playing awesome ball right now.

I'm going to have to buy a Rondo jersey. I don't know what's been holding me off either.

Same here..  I've been wanting to buy his jersey for over a year and just haven't gotten around to it for one reason or another.

Obviously there's a long way to go, but what's the chances on Rondo breaking the NBA record for APG in a single season? He's insane right now with his passing.

I too wanted to get a Rondo jersey since beginning of season but haven't got one in years, they still like 80-90 bucks for swingman? Or are you guys paying a few hundred for the authentic?

The new swingman jerseys are still 90 bucks, but from what I can tell look a little better. I might just get one of those when the St. Patrick's day alternative ones come out.
yeah not sure i can afford 3 hundred on a jersey at the moment - but would like a current authentic down the line.

I'd like to give special thanks to Coach K for cutting Rondo from team USA.

Rajon Rondo just 'assisted' in helping to sell me a new pair of Nike Zoom Hyperfuses...

^Brandon Roy and Deron Williams also rock those, though obviously only Rajon Rondo can wear the Celtics 'Victory Green' version and have it match his jersey  ;)

Are we going to do this after every game?

  I, for one, hope so.

I just booked a hall to celebrate this historic NBA event.   ;)

Honestly, what he's done is very impressive, but there were a couple of times he passed up layups to get assists. Also, he's shooting 50% from the line, which disappoints me.

Rondo has more assists than 14 teams in the NBA.
How many games do those 4 teams have?

Still impressive though.

Rondo has 67

Three teams in four games have equal or less assists than Rondo

Bucks = 67
Pistons = 64
T'Wolves = 64

OKC is on pace to have about 58 assists but currently only have 43 through 3 games. The rest of the two and three game teams should pass Rondo easily.

So you're right Rondo is only out assisting four nba teams if you control for games played.  ;)

  A point guard who averages about 40 minutes a game's made a couple of decisions with the ball you don't agree with so far this season? What are the odds...

 By the way, I totaled the assists and turnovers for starting point guards for our opponents (using Eddie House for the Heat because Arroyo hardly played). While Rondo's gone for 82 assists and 20 turnovers over 5 games, he's held his counterparts to a total of 18 assists and 12 turnovers.
