Do NBA players wear butt padding during games?

Seriously, I really have to know. I mean, how can super big men continuously fall on their butt (because the bigger they are, the harder they fall, you know) and not break something? Seriously, just how is it possible? And what about the pain? Oh my, the pain must be excruciating.

Am I missing something?

I just wanted to put this question out there in case anyone has some special knowledge of this topic..

Nah, I don't think most of them do.

I see Rondo is wearing some rather large rib/back protector this season.

A lot of players wear pads that protect the coccyx, (tailbone), as that's a very common injury and point of contact when hitting the floor on their backs.
