I just caught the tail end of it, but in his post game press Doc was talking about starting Baby at C if Shaq isn't able to go next game. It looked like shaq tweeked his knee in the 4th. Did anyone hear the whole thing?

Hope it isn't  anything serious

Love that guy, hope he's not injured already. WTH is it with the injuries-especially with all the new players. It's almost like every new guy can't play already because of injury.

This is pretty scary.  We don't have a center. ???

Anyone still want to trade Baby? :-\

i'm pretty sure if you rewind the game you will see a play where shaq got hit on the backside of the knee...he went down and got up and kept playing but i thought it looked serious when i first saw it...

Yeah, you've got to admit Shaq has actually been pretty good, huh? I always feel the love for Perk, but it seems like Shaq is better. And why shouldn't he be? I mean....he's SHAQ!
I hoping the 'big plug' as Tommy called him tonight will heal quickly and I think he will.

As long its not serious, team will be fine. Semih-Automatic is locked and loaded to help the Celtics. And Luke outside shooting could come in handy at some point.

  • It's all about the TEAM!
I thought when it first happened, he was hurt. The announcers never mentioned a thing about it, but you could see his knee go into an ugly position for just a moment. He kinda looked gimpy and went to the bench. Later he returned to the game and I felt felt better about things. But obviously it was probably stiffening up as time went on. I don't think it's serious, but it definitely looked like he tweaked his knee. I think he's been playing better than I expected so far. He's rebounding and looking like he's into being a Celtic. So I hope this is only a very minor setback and he's back in no time.

Sadly, a lot of old guys probably means more minor injuries that keep guys out of games. If Shaquille has to miss games and if JO's multiple injuries don't heal quickly, this team will have a serious big man shortage for at least the short term. Unreal.

Yeah, I'd like to see them both as well, especially Semih. Give em' a shot, can't hurt much. That's how they'll learn the ropes.

I think if the celts have to depend on seih and Luke in games it would hurt a lot.

When i saw it I immediately thought bruise as opposed to tear of any kind.  But, with his age you never know.  Probably a day to day.  let's hope.

I hope it's not bad because Jermaine has given us absolutely nothing.  We really need Shaq's 20 solid minutes a night.

Anyone else notice how well Shelden Williams is playing for Denver?  He's had two huge rebounding games.  He's giving them a lot more than JO is giving us for a fraction of the price.

According to one of my news feeds, Shaq says it will not keep him out of the lineup. Hope he is right and it is nothing serious. We need that 20 mpg he is giving us, it is invaluable up to this point.

JO otoh is lame again, this guy was a question mark for me from the start as to minutes of real value. We got the 'he is healthy hype', but that was propaganda I guess.

Hope Doc will mix in Semih and Luke for 5+ mpg each when we have a decent lead. The experience will help everyone and if they are not up to par, then Danny will know early if he needs to make a deal or cash the season in if the 2 O'Neals cant give us the minutes we need. I dont think excessive minutes for BBD, KG or Paul and Ray in a small lineup is going to do us any good over the long haul.

Shaq 20
Semih and Luke 10
KG 33
BBD 33

is 96 for the bigs. Much better than 40 or more per when one is in foul trouble. JO taking 10 would be good too if he can do it and be productive. Havent seen that yet in 3 games.

I don't want KG in the low 30's, especially in situations when we have back to back games or 3 games in 4 nights. I rather keep him in the high 20's. He's at 31 MPG now, but I think that's an aberration due to the 35 minutes he played on opening night in a game we badly wanted. Since then he's played 29 minutes each in the other two games. IMO, that's perfect.

I really do want Baby to keep getting major minutes. In fact, I think he should be the big that gets the most minutes. He's playing well and has the young legs to handle the load.

I do like Edren and I hope that the fact that he hasn't played has more to do with his shoulder injury and not because Doc just doesn't trust him. He should be receiving minutes and if he shows the same type of improvements he showed from Summer League to FIBA to pre-season then, with some PT, he could be a very nice player.

Don't think Luke should get any PT unless it's a blowout type of situation. He belongs in the NBDL to develop.

Hopefully he's all right. Also hope JO heals up and Erdin and Luke can give some minutes if called upon.
