Man - my heart says to keep Delonte, but my brain is saying otherwise.

If this is as serious as it appears, what message does Doc and Danny send by keeping Delonte?

if hes got into it with multiple teammates which is probably some of our vets who are trying to most likely guide him and better him....then dump him fast thats just uncalled for.

I dont think Delonte will be released. Doc and Danny know  just how valuable he is to the second unit. I do think he will be disciplined behind closed doors though.

Maybe had this stayed out of the media, Delonte would be kept and punished quitely, but, now that it's out, I don't see how they can keep him.  I really wish they had dumped Wafer aafter their first dust-up.  Wafer is useless, and obviously doesn't get along with Delonte.  C's could have nipped this in-the-bud, had they just cut Wafer. It's not as if he has contributed anything of value so far with Delonte out on suspension.

True.

I think Delonte is gone.  Too bad, I was rooting for the guy.
Delonte might be more talented than Wafer, but that doesn't excuse it or justify keeping Delonte (if Delonte was the one to instigate it).
Celtics fan for life.

Complete story on hoopsworld, it looks like Delonte instigated it from start to finish...

Quote
Less than one week after tempers flared during a two-on-two game in practice, Delonte West and Von Wafer had another altercation earlier this afternoon.

During a three-on-three game with Avery Bradley, Luke Harangody, Semih Erden and assistant coach Tyronn Lue, West began fouling Wafer each time the reserve guard touched the ball. West was increasingly physical to the point that Wafer exited to the locker room midway through the game. As he walked away, West barked obscenities and taunted Wafer.

After Wafer had showered and sat down at his locker, West approached from behind and threw a punch. Wafer didn't see the punch coming but quickly got off of the ground and connected on two punches of his own. He then wrestled West to the ground before being separated by the team's veterans.

Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce were very unhappy with the incident, especially since it occurred just hours before a game. Doc Rivers met with the players and tried smooth things over shortly after.

Sources close to the situation say that the Danny Ainge and the Celtics have grown tired of West's confrontations with teammates and are considering releasing the point guard. West is on a non-guaranteed contract and his distractions could result in that deal being terminated.

West has gotten into skirmishes with multiple teammates this season and his confrontational ways have grown old very quickly in the locker room. He is currently serving a ten-game suspension after pleading guilty to weapons charges in July.

Please release both of these guys. Delonte is just not stable and Wafer is not going to add anything. Sign Lasme and find another guard who might be able to help.

Tempers flare between West and Wafer at Celts practice

This video is from oct 25th.
Wow, I don't know if this video is cut (it looked like it) but that was one of the least heated altercations that i've ever seen.  I think this might be getting a little hyped up.  Delonte felt the need to teach this kid a lesson, just leave it at that.  If someone gets cut for a punch that would be disappointing.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

I can't even believe the reactions I'm reading from people... you want to release Delonte or expect him to be released for THIS? Are you kidding me? This stuff happens all the time in pro sports. Competitors clash.

"Release him, Delonte is a nut bag." - Seriously? Not only is he one of our best bench players, but this honestly is nowhere near a good reason to release a player. Bill Walker got face to face with KG in camp too. Hell, KG has punched a teammate at practice.

It happens all the time, it just isn't always available for the media to blow up ("West has had multiple incidents with teammates already" - oh give me a break).

I think Danny and Doc are smart enough to not cut a guy just because he and the 3rd string two-guard got into a little scuffle after tempers flared up at practice.

Just my opinion, but you cannot keep Delonte.  He needs to go.  IF everything in the report is accurate, he has too go.  Team > 1 player.

Finding another shooter wont be that difficult, but the issues this incident could cause is far greater than just a small fight.

So if the report is accurate, and Delonte basically stalked Wafer in the locker room and then threw a sucker punch at him, from behind, you don't think that deserves getting released? Sorry, but the Celtics don't need this crap.

McCants or Bradley here we come... West would have been the only reason why Bradley wouldn't see the floor but oh well now

If this is true then i’m REALLY upset at Delonte. Wafer sucks, and if West is gone then we are no longer as deep as we once were. THIS SUCKS.

Aww, Delonte . . . this does not look good at all.  I was really hoping that Delonte would be able to pull himself together and help this team and himself.  I'm not thinking that's so likely right now.

Bingo. Delonte and Wafer got physical at practice.. like I said, competitors clash. Von didn't like it, so he made a joke about Delonte's mental issues. Delonte rightfully took offense and popped him. That's what I'm getting from all the reports.
