There could be a silver lining:  If we release Delonte, it'll free us up to offer a contract to Gerald Green  ;D

Noooooooooo! Not delonte again. Man, I hope this isn't true. Delonte is huge part of the bench for the C's this year.
Yup and this is a huge blow to our team as a whole

Now who's going to spell Ray?

Wow -- watching that video it seems like Delonte really has an issue. I think it is clear that he is gone and the Celtics' bench and backcourt are sginificantly weakened. Wonder who is available that can help, because I don't think it is going to be Von Wafer.

Humor aside, I hope we don't release him before we see what he can do.  But if a non-guaranteed guy is starting fights with a guaranteed guy, well, the non-guaranteed guy is probably gonna go.  Especially with a track record like Delonte's.

It's a shame cause I'd much rather see Wafer released than West.

Let's not jump to conclusions - but this does make for a very difficult situation for Celtics management...

Well, I don't believe Wafer is guaranteed either.  The issue is that he was on a short leash anyways, because of his past problems, so to do this now is a major red flag.

Call me old-fashioned, but I think there´s no way we can keep someone who threw punches at a teammate.
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

I dont think Delonte will be released. Doc and Danny know  just how valuable he is to the second unit. I do think he will be disciplined behind closed doors though.

Maybe had this stayed out of the media, Delonte would be kept and punished quitely, but, now that it's out, I don't see how they can keep him.  I really wish they had dumped Wafer aafter their first dust-up.  Wafer is useless, and obviously doesn't get along with Delonte.  C's could have nipped this in-the-bud, had they just cut Wafer. It's not as if he has contributed anything of value so far with Delonte out on suspension.

Don't think this kind of thing was that uncommon in the past.

That said - Delonte's on a short leash and Doc/Danny are super conscious of chemistry. Of course, Delonte's a huge asset on the court so... it'll be interesting to see how it plays out.

I poked around a little bit - I thought Von was fully guaranteed but it looks like only $150k is guaranteed, so you're right.

That's why management gets the big bucks...hope they can calm this one, the thought of losing Delonte (and keeping Wafer) this soon just makes me feel sick!  I knew Delonte would need understanding at some point, but not so soon...  :'(

Off the top of my head, Michael Jordan and Kevin Garnett (in Minny) both punched teammates in practice.  Scuffles are pretty common, but superstars obviously get a much longer leash than end-of-bench guys.
