I am trying my best not to let the refs drive me away, also.  If the situation is not cleaned up, they will, and I will miss a part of my life that has been a focus for so long, and it would absolutely break my hard little heart to leave the Blog.

I am still hopeful that the ref situation will be brought under control, though, and Stern will get his head out of the sand....

I do understand human error and that every call won't be the right one, but it has gone beyond ridiculous.

What makes it even worst they( NBA officials)disrespect future HOF'ers, veteran players when they make these bad calls or no-calls.Its bad when we see it done to any player but when guys like Ray,KG and Pierce are treated like they are some rookie that just came into the league then its time to reevaluate why am i still watching the games. As much as i want to give it up somewhere it has to get better. When the media(power)starts calling out the officials on a regular basis maybe the people responsible will start to clean it up.The media, sports writers have the power to make a difference in this case.IMO

Jeff get busy,please! :)

To Reggie Miller's credit, he did call them out a few times for some of those calls.

Thats my point,if enough of those guys call them out on a regular basis Sterns will have no choice but to make some changes, you think?Im hoping&praying that the media can and will help bring it to the light. Those are the only groups of people that everyone listen to.

I was cussing Reggie last night because on the attempted Ray Allen dunk in which he was clearly fouled, both Reggie and the other guy hardly metioned it -  except to say Ray should have tried to be dunking but holding on the ball!!!!!. He was clearly fouled and fouled hard and they made very little reference to it being a foul ..... I wish had the tape ...I was so angry at Reggie I was screaming

22 FT for LeBron is just sickeningly sad.  All he did was put his head down and throw himself into whoever was in the area to defend him.  After the last two on Pierce (his 4th and 5th) it really changed the game.  I am not sure how it will get fixed but it needs to.

Is anything happening now really that significantly different from the way the NBA has been for the past twenty years or so?  Sure, the technical rules are more stringent but other than that, it seems like business as usual.

Plenty of headaches going on at times but I've come to expect that from the NBA.  Its pretty much business as usual and I learned to deal with that a long time ago.

My advice is to suck it up or just shut it off completely.  I still take the NBA over the NCAA 7 days a week despite its imperfections.

And then they gave the Heat the ball!!!!  Haslem either slapped wrist or the ball (obviously wrist).  If that really was clean then it was out off the Heat.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

NBA's been that way for the past 45 years. Take it from me.

I completely agree with this, especially because it during a crucial stretch at the end of the game.  He clearly got fouled (and hard) and they said nothing but he should have held on to the ball.

That being said, Reggie had some great comments last night.  He was really humble about Ray Allen and the three point record and even had some moment where he called out the NBA.  That moment at the end frustrated me, but overall I really enjoyed Reggie as a commentator last night.  A much needed and nice break from our usual Breen, Van Gundy, and Jackson line up if you ask me.

We have weekly games (on Sundays) here in Denmark on the tube and one of the guys doing the games is actually calling the refs out. I know it won't do the least bit of difference (since he's in Denmark and the NBA is not very big here) but it's so refreshing to hear someone in the media who actually cares about bad (i.e. "suspicious") calls.

Like a few others have said, we don't expect the refs to call these games perfectly. But at least they could try to make it look like they are calling things fairly evenly and on both ends of the floor. Is it really too much to ask for? We, the NBA fans, pay good money to watch a game and we expect the best team to win and not who the league thinks we want to see win. I'm not saying it's a conspiracy but it looks like there's some shady stuff going on. Call me  a whiner if you'd like (I truly don't care), it's just how I (and a whole bunch of other people) perceive things.

Clean it up, Herr Stern.

Glad to hear about people other places that are concerned...the NBA is a global game which includes everyone's opinions.tp

the ticky tack/phantom calls toward the end of the game were really frustrating.  What takes the cake though is Lebron blatantly whining at an official and nothing happens after Nate gets T'd up for throwing his hands up a little bit and saying nothing.

glad reggie at least pointed it out.

Great play by Haslem to go ahead and foul and hope it doesn't get called.

Dumb play by Ray when Ray is so good from the line.
