As a note -- in preseason, 7 games, Davis scored 12ppg in under 21mpg while shooting 49% from the field. He did a terrific job of getting to the line (41 FTA vs 53 FGA) and posted a 59% TS%.

His rebounding numbers were 4.4rpg in 20.7mpg for an average of one rebound every 4.7 minutes.
His pre-season play was very good.

I am a little surprised he's only gotten to the line once.

Opinions aren't FACTS, so I will disagree.

KG had an athletic decline between '07 and '08? Opinion.

He's not a dominant rebounder so far? (at 12.5 rpg) Opinion.

"depth" isn't an excuse for Davis's rebounding? Opinion.

It's a FACT that Davis is third on the C's in rebs and 2nd in both PER and rebounds per minute played.

You really think Garnett is going to maintain a rebounding rate superior to anything he did in his prime? After getting destroyed on the boards in the Finals? I've been very encouraged by his board work, but that's not a realistic expectation. The rest of the lineup around BBD does not explain away his rebounding, the rest of the team hasn't exactly dominated the glass.

Pretty much everything on this message board is based on opinion, I don't see why you need to say "FACT" and "Opinion" so much. This isn't talk radio, shouting sound bites isn't going to win you points. Nor is anyone going to cut someone else's mike.

Just trying to make a point, because of your writing style. How do you claim that I'm "shouting"?

My opinion is that he's shown a significant improvement based on the preseason and 1st two games, and that the Celtics' depth and (even if temporary) KG's strong rebounding early does have an effect on Davis' rebounding.

If KG continues the play without injury, it's entirely possible that he's back to his double/double form this season.

You no doubt about it KG was a monster on the boards in the cleveland game (much more spry then he's been in 2 years) which obviously took away a lot rebounds BBD would have had.

You keep saying that KG was taking away from Davis's rebounding, yet Garnett's boards were mostly on the defensive end. Meanwhile Davis had more defensive rebounds than last year, it was his offensive rebounding that went away.

Its only two games, and I hope he gets back to getting mutltiple offensive boards a game. It would really help the C's win. No matter how you slice it, you can't be happy with a PF/C who only gets 1 rebound every six minutes of court time.

He's referring to your typing words in all caps (like FACT).

Yeah I typically view all caps and bold as shouting. Italics can be too though my internal voice has them as sarcasm typically.

There isn't very much to complain about with his play anymore so why worry about something that has no chance of being a concern.  Offensive rebounding.  The dude is one of the best in league.. I would venture to guess this won't be problem.

Did anyone mention all the charges.  I remember I had conversation regarding his quick feet with someone on this site a few years ago.. Those were the days.

Sign Baby now, before some other team overpays for him.

I would rather overpay for Baby than overpay for Perk.

Don't think he'll be getting overpaid.. Looks like he's earning his pay and can ask for a lot more at the rate he's going.

Kind of funny how we have posters on here trying to convince us that we are not seeing what we're seeing. lol

Big Baby is playing great and they'll break out all sorts of statistics to tell us our eyes are deceiving us. ;D

Yep - another solid game from our Baby! Lord knows we need these, and he's stepping up Big Time.

For the Financial Gurus out there - how much would be fair for Glen if we could re-sign him? The man is playing his best ball, IMO, right now and seems to be in a groove.

16 and 6 in 24 min? And I suppose that the refs were rather liberal with their whistles tonight, to our detriment evidently.

I don't have much imagination, though my other qualities compensate. I don't think I've been imagining BBD is every play in the way of the opponent, hitting those consistent jump shots, finishing at the rim, and, oh there's also the zero turnover rate.

Don’t forget about the charges! He’s getting the benefit of the doubt against Lebron and D-Wade.
