The 03 04 Lakers make a good case with Bryant, Shaq, Malone, and Payton. However, they have no one special at the small forward position. But all four of those guys is some serious fire power.

The 96 Rockets have a decent case with Barkley, Olajuwon, and Drexler all in their primes. However, they have no one special at point guard and at the other wing.

If we are talking teams of the past then pencil me in for the 86 Celtics.

Of this season - or really any of the last 4, I go with the C's. I'm assuming restoring Rondo to his prime means going forward in time to when he can hit free throws at 80%.

Shaq and KG in their prime would have been the best big man combo ever. Of this I have no doubt. JO in his prime Indiana years adds potent depth. He and KG paired would make an incredible defensive combo.

Historically there have been some teams similar to ours, I'm not enough of a buff to know them off the top of my head. Didn't one Houston team
have old Charles, Pippen, Hakeem, and Drexler?

A similar team would be the 06 Heat.  Wade, Shaq, ZO, and Payton plus a younger Antoine.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale
