Uh Oh.

Tim Duncan just went down with a knee injury. Saw it on ESPN just now. He walked off on his own power, though.

He seemed to favor it some as he was walking off the court.

Hope all is well with him.

It was only a matter of time...they had a good run so far. I hope all is well with him though.

I just hope it's not serious. I'm tired of LA having a cakewalk with that frontline of theirs.

Oden.

Yao.

Boozer and Amar'e bolting for East.

Now? Maybe Timmy.

Whew!

Tim's warming up with the team during halftime.

He must've just tweaked it. Thank God.

I can root for Timmy.

Ehh...So what if Boozer and Amare went East. Analysts were wrong. The cakewalk is "still" clearly in the East, at the moment. Did you look at the standings (in particular 6-14 in the respective conferences)?

1st rd will be easier in the East.  2nd rd will be much, much easier in the West.  Conference finals?  Depends who gets there.

So, Lakers_Fan33 - you think I'm incorrect in my assumption?

Let's break it down. Correct me if I'm wrong, but: Boston's Bigs have to combat:

1. CHI - Noah and Boozer.
2. NY - Amar'e.
3. ORL - Dwight/Bass/Matthews.
4. WIZ - Javale McGee - Yes, even though he is young he is a
   game-changer.
5. PHI - Brand - On a Resurgent Sixers Squad. You all barely
beat Philly when they visited Staples Center.
6. ATL - Josh Smith/Al Horford.
7. MIL - Bogut. His play was instrumental in MIL beating LA in
   LA.
8. NJ - Brooke Lopez.
9. CLE - Varejao. One of the best Defensive Bigs in the game.
10. MIA - Chris Bosh/Haslem - Bosh may get a lot of flack, but
he helped torch LA on Christmas Day. He may not reside in
the post much, but you have to respect his game.
11. Roy Hibbert. Scored 24 pts VS LA - in an Indiana upset at
    Staples Center.

Out West?

1. SAS - Duncan/Blair - talented, but I don't see them
matching up well in a 7-game series with LA.
2. HOU - No Yao.
3. Portland - No Oden. Only Lamarcus.
4. DAL - Dirk/Tyson.
5. Big Al/Milsap - small.
6. Blake/DeAndre - Talented, but not ready, yet. The only
reason Clips beat Lakers last week was because Gordon went
off. Lakers held Blake to a "Modest" 18 and 15, on 7-20 FG%
7. OKC - Ibaka/Krstic (Talented bunch, but still small
   compared to LA's frontline.)
8. DEN - Nene/KMart (KMart's been hurt most of season, so   LA
has not encountered him much.) Plus, Nene seems to have
   problems with LA's Bigs.
9. MEM - Marc Gasol/Randolph
10. NOH - Okafor/D West

I think East Bigs make for a harder conference, don't you? Also - consider the fact that maybe the two most fearsome Western Bigs - Oden and Yao - are hurt?

And then you take into consideration the number of games missed by Boston's Bigs, and I have to marvel at our record right now.

It was nice watching NBATV the other day - Doc Rivers does in fact deserve Coach Of the Year for navigating the team through the East's minefield.

@ GreenFaith

Yeah, I suppose there are more quality bigs currently on the East, but you cannot argue that the general quality of teams is better on the West Coast, and even without quality bigs, better overall teams with decent bigs will usually win vs crappy teams with good bigs. How the hell can you have a 17-25 record, and still make the 8th seed?

The top of the East is stronger than the top of the West.

The middle of the West is stronger than the middle of the East.

Also, I hope you weren't serious when you referred to Oden as one of the West's "most fearsome Bigs." Even when healthy, I still wouldn't bestow that title on him.

The middle of the West is stronger than the middle of the East.

Well, even record-wise, I'm not so sure that even the top of the East is that much better than the top of the West, other than what some NBA analysts might say...Either way, a non-issue.

Ah - but that 17-25 team (CHA) has historically given LA trouble. They swept LA last year.

PHI? Almost beat LA at Staples.

NY? Lakers beat them handedly, because Amar'e can't overcome LA's Trees.

ORL? Not sure of their status vs LA or the west.

ATL? Unsure.

CHI? LA is 1-1 vs CHI, I believe.

MIA? LA is 0-1.

Those two "Bottom Feeders" out East (CHA and PHI) are indeed tough, though.

Well, LakersFan, I don't know about that:

Or:

My Word - Oden did that in SAME Game to LA's Towers. He uprooted Gasol like a tree in a tornado.

How about this one:

So - Oden is not Fearsome?

Please Reconsider.

When/If Healthy, I think Portland's Bigs (Oden, Aldridge, Przbylla, Camby) are the best in the League - IMHO.

I think that Lamar Odom is the most important Laker on that team. Not much he can't do.

The Bum ;D.

How so? Portland has no all-star bigs. So they cant be the best in the league.

Lakers/Celtics have the best bigs.
