Every fan attending all Celtics games this years should sport an authentic NBA head band with the [dang] logo upside down.  They can't fine us .... or can they?  (cue Twilight Zone music)

How utterly absurd.
TP, someone needs to make that happen. haha

That would be great! ;D  Get out the word on this.

Man, I just figured he wanted a fresh start after the Lakers Finals series, but if he's not sporting it because he might get fined for wearing it upside down, that's just disappointing.

In the end though, who cares.  He sported it that way because he had a great game a few seasons ago and realized it was on upside down.  last night he had 17 assists, so hopefully his new tradition of not wearing it will help him average 17 per game!  ;D

I, for the life of me, could not figure out what was different about him last night.  Thank you.  TP

I love it. He refuses to honor a Laker (Jerry West), as he should.

so i heard today on ESPN's PTI that Stern has banned Rondo from wearing his headband upside down because it is "disrespectful to the NBA." Stern's shenanigans are just ridiculous lately... I mean really you're gonna be that big of a Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.... He's getting out of hand now. De Furer gets what he wants i guess...  ::)
everyone got so sensitive after 9-11... thanks alot bin laden

I side with Stern on this one. These animals in the NBA (not meant in a racist way) are out of control. They need to be reigned in a bit. I hate the image of the NBA player.

Rondo in particular is not a problem, and I understand he hates the Lakers and turned the headband upside down to not support Jerry West...

I can't decide whether this serious or you are being sarcastic. A lot of current NBA stars have squeaky clean image outside of the NBA Lebron, Rondo, Dwight, Nash, Dwyane Wade, Durant, CP3, Deron Williams, Dirk, Garnett......... So I don't know what image you are talking about. People need to differentiate the player/entertainer and the individual.

Just caught this thread and the offered explanation for Rondo's missing headband.  How come he's wearing alternate colored shoes then (black when team is wearing white, white when team is wearing black)?  Doesn't he get fined for that, too?

I don't believe shoes are regulated by the league, since the league does not have an official shoe deal, and allows players to wear the shoes they are paid to wear.

The headband however, must be NBA apparel, and is therefore regulated by the NBA.

Just like Nike wouldn't like it if a player they were paying messed up the logo on the shoes, the NBA doesn't like it when their insignia is not displayed properly.

Its marketing, pure and simple.

I mean its a freakin' headband... Like just let the guy wear it, ya know? Ridiculous, who cares if the head band is right side up, upside down, green, white, black, purple, or red? its a headband.

I say he should just wear it inside out now.
