Pretty cool league preview on ESPN where they turn each team into comic book covers.  Here is the link to the celts page.

Wow I was just about to post this...

here is the pick I think its pretty awesome

Only problem is that if Kobe has 5 rings, Rondo should have one too. Well and I don't know if Rondo is rocking the headband this year.

I like how Rondo's fingers are realistically twice the length of his palm.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Awesome picture.

This team can realistically have a starting lineup of 5 hall-of-famer's.

Surely it would be premature to assume Rondo will raise (or sustain?) his game for many years to become one, but Shaq, KG, Pierce, and Ray are all automatic already.

Has any team ever started 4 HOFer's? I'm guessing the 60's C's did, but what about the Lakers or anyone else?

No team could have started 5, right?

Does anyone know if this image will make it into the printed magazine?  It'd be great as a cover but since it doesn't say "ESPN the Magazine" I guess that may not happen.

Cousey Rusell Sharman Heinsohn Ramsey was a starting 5 of HOF'es.  Some of those teams also included KC Jones and Sam Jones who are also both in the HOF.

Too bad the Celtics fantastic five drawing doesn't do it for me. They look kind of plastic. I would have chosen some other superheros.
Cool dwg with Koby, Rhondo and Lebron and Howard, though.

Thanks greenpride32, TP.

And I was a little disappointed that Rondo didn't have a ring on his finger.

Lakers with Payton Kobe Malone and Shaq had four as well.

Lakers w/ Payton Bryant Malone and Shaq had four, Celtics with Johnson Bird McHale and Parish had four as well.

Bird’s rookie year had Larry Legend, Tiny Archibald, Pistol Pete, and Dave Cowens.

But that was Tiny having a resurgence at the end of his prime, Larry was a rookie, Cowens and Pistol were at the VERY end. That being said this team still won 62 games. But Larry wasn’t experienced enough to get the C’s past Philly.

Just found it.

1973 New York Knicks

They had Bill Bradley, Dave DeBusschere, Walt Frazier, Jerry Lucas, Earl Monroe, and Willis Reed.
