Davis is signed through this season. My guess is if an extension can't be reached during the year he'll be traded.
Well, Davis *can't* be signed to an extension during the season, per NBA collective bargaining rules. So that will not be a factor in whether he's shopped or not.

What everyone seems to forget is that Baby is probably our most versatile big outside of KG. He can defend the 4 and the 5. He can shoot from outside or inside. And he can provide energy plays or create his own shot. He's extremely versatile and very important to this team.
And people want to get rid of that? Do people realize that Shaq's a defensive liability, JO has no heart, is extremely injury-prone, and SOFT, and that Erden and Harangody are rookies? We all love KG and Perk but they both have their own injury situations as well. To me, those advocating the trade of Baby are just those who never liked him in the first place, something that makes their opinion dubious at best. He's one of the few bigs we can actually count on this year.
The real conversation--that is, if we were talking about things that really matter--is whether we should consider starting Baby while Perk's on the mend. His presence would make the starting unit very skilled (as Doc himself noted), very hard to guard and extremely versatile, and it would put Shaq and JO in the bench roles they're best suited for and will eventually settle into once Perk comes back. And you know what? Baby's the better player too. Shaq is the better low post option, JO the better shot-blocker and rebounder, but the best all-around player out of those 3 is Glen Davis.

If we're talking about who to trade, the guy at the top of the list is Jermaine O'Neal. He's DONE, has ZERO LIFT, and to top it off, he has no HEART. He's the kind of guy who recently admitted that he hated playing against the Cs because he knew we'd be physical with him, something that basically announces to the world that if you're physical with Jermaine O'Neal he's going to back down and lose his aggressiveness and become ineffective. We don't need that kind of player on this team. He's a good guy to have for depth, but the minute you start counting on him is the minute you're going to be let down. If and when Perk comes back to full strength, you can bet that JO will slide to the end of the bench and be no more than a 5 minute-a-night guy by the time the playoffs start. Not what we wanted from our MLE, but that's what we got--a mentally weak loser past his prime.
