Marquis Daniels shoulder out, Jermaine Oneal hand injury, Shaqs hip, Delontes back, Babys knee we can not catch a break and it's only the preseason imagine come midseason or the playoffs

This is crap and a real shame  >:(

They are just resting guys for the regular season... Its only preseason, who cares who plays? Even if these guys were on the bench in uniform they wouldnt be playing anyway. They wanna give the lower bottom guys a look to see who going to be cut or not.

But, injuries are going to be a big part of this team this year, whether guys play through them during the regular season or take some rest time off... Thats the trade off with a veteran team...older players, more injuries.

This is precautionary. No one will play if they aren’t 100%, especially in preseason.

But Marquis’ shoulder is from a Reggie Evans screen that should have been called.

Shaq only has a certain abount of bullets left, no reason to waste them now.

I have no clue about the J.O. hand injury.

The one that worries me the most is Marquis Daniels.  He's looking very good this preseason, but he has been ridiculously injury prone throughout his career.  We are very thin at the small forward position.  Without Marquis, we are left with either alot of three guard lineups with Ray shifting over or Delonte covering 3s, or we are relying on a late second round or undrafted rookie undersized power forward to quickly learn how to play small forward for a championship contender.

Please, MD, surprise everyone and give us at least 70 regular season games and come into the playoffs healthy and ready.  OK.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

Right with a veteran team this is expected come midseason, those long back to backs but however you cut it no matter what this early into the preseason and all these injuries already is not good.

Not anymore than normal in the NBA.  I'd rather get them out of the way now.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Danny's gamble:  known talent, questionable health is better than known health and questionable talent.  He was bargain shopping with empty pockets this summer, after all.

Marquis, Delonte, Shaq, and JO each have a history of missing time with little or nagging injuries.

Prediction:  none of them will be available for 70 or more games this season (excluding Delonte's suspension).

The injuries are mostly are a ruse.  Shaq admitted as much, saying his hips are fine, he just is benefiting from extended rest.  They don't want to say they are just resting guys for the fans attending the game, so they are using a very minor reason as to why they are not playing.  There are no real injuries at this point.  Calm down, panic-driven Celtic bloggers.

If any of you guys worrying about the injuries were Heat fans, you would be having heart attacks right now given that Wade and Lebron are both "hurt" and missing games. As others have said, it is the pre-season and most of these injuries are not real.

Doc knows the chemistry is there with the starters; however I think they need a lot more time to gel. With such a deep team and a weak conference they will have time during the season. The second unit has looked almost better than the first. So Doc has the luxury of resting guys. Erden is our third Center. M.West, Wafer and Lasme are all fighting for one position. Luke will be lucky to get half of Scal's minutes. So no need to worry. They need to know what they can get from these guys more than from the 1st and 2nd team.

Rondo has put on thirty lbs. since he came into the league and this year it really shows. He is also posting up more and mixing it up down low. I do worry about him injury wise.

It is preseason. If a veteran has an ache, he gets rest, even if he can play.

Looking at Miami or Kobe's knee, I'm not worried about our 'injuries'.

I'm not really too worried, because after all, this is the preseason. Any little thing to a star player and they won't go, it's as simple as that. Why risk turning a little thing into something more?

I'm sure more than half (or all) of these injuries wouldn't cause anyone to miss any games if it happened in the regular season.

And this is kinda normal. Look around the league and many players sit out preseason games. LeBron and Wade are missing time, I'm sure Miami isn't too worried.

The only place to worry is Center. I really don't want to have to go small with KG and Baby on the floor together or use Erden in important games. JO and Shaq have to take care of their bodies and push themselves until Perk comes back. They will get their breather after the ASB. But for the first half they need to go all out.

The backup SF role will work itself out IMO. Daniels should hopefully not miss EXTENDED time, but a game here or there will be OK. Harangody and/or Lasme could play 10 minutes every once in awhile. If Daniels gets a serious injury, Danny probably looks into making a move.

Delonte isn't that much of a problem, as he should only play 15-20 minutes a game (maybe a few at PG). He will be relied on physically less this season than at any point in his career.

On the other hand, our defense was best when it was KG and Baby up front.
