I'm in a keeper fantasy league, where we have a rookie draft and then we can red shirt the rookies and keep them for years 2-4 of their careers.  And, I have the 4th pick in the rookie draft.

I love John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins as 1/2.  But, given that they won't fall to me, I have to choose from what's left.  I haven't been too impressed so far with Evan Turner, but I think he'd be my 3rd pick, and I'm not too high on Wesley Johnson given his age (23 years old), which will limit his growth.

I've been shocked by how little Derrick Favors has done in pre-season.  Does anybody have an insight into this kid?  Is he gonna emerge at some point?  Any insight would be much appreciated.  Also, any insight into other rookies that might have some fantasy impact, this year or next, would be appreciated.

I think Derrick Favors is a no brainer at #4.  I wouldn't read too much into the slow preseasons of either Favors or Turner; both should be fantastic players in the long-term.

Thanks Roy (tp).  I just needed some reassurance.

Favors at 4 is definitely the way to go... Unless of course Blake Girffin is considered a rookie in your draft, then I'd try to go with him... Im guessing he is not though.

Favors is a project and was drafted on his potential.  You should draft him accordingly.  Don't expect short term production, particularly when he has to share the frontcourt with Troy Murphy and Brook Lopez.

I'm not high on Evan Turner, personally.  I'm sure he'll be a solid role player / starter, but it's not clear he's star material.  In fantasy it's easier to replace wing production than big production anyway, so I wouldn't reach to get him, especially since he has to play alongside Iguodala for the foreseeable future.
Never forget the Champs of '08, or the gutsy warriors of '10.

Nope, Griffin went #1 last year.

Favors has significantly higher upside, I think.  His athleticism is off the charts, to the point where he's regularly being compared to KG (which is completely unfair to Favors, by the way).
