I heard JO talking about this in the pre-game yesterday, how he uncharacteristically picked up an unknown number and it happened to be a soft voice on the other end.  I would expect this from Paul or Kevin, but I think it says a lot about Rondo's leadership on this team that he's out there calling the best available big man and telling him how great his team is when we needed a replacement for Perk.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Nice... Any link or anything? Or was it just on the interview? I was surprised to see Rondo as an option in ESPN's ranking the top 15 players in the game. Good for him, I hope he makes an even bigger leap this year. But i love how he is taking over this leadership role.

Yes it was in an interview and no I couldn't find a link in my quick search.  If anybody else can it's a good interview.  He talks about Perk too.

A good pick up for us, He has to stay healthy like last year with the Heat. He has struggled with his offense so far this pre-season but hopefully come October 26th He will be in a full Rhythm

Lets hope he has a good game tonight against the "No Defense" Knicks

Defensively and on the glass, JO has looked fantastic this preseason.  Offensively, he has started out where he left off in the playoffs last year.

Doc's much more concerned about the former, and I'm with the Doctor on this one.

So far I'm more excited about the younger of the O'Neals.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

Rondo may have called JO, but I think Pierce was the primary recruiter.  Pierce and JO share the same birthday and the past few years they have celebrated together before camp started.

It will be very interesting in 2 years to see how Boston is viewed as a place to play.  Shaq KG Ray JO will all be up.  And we'll be left with Rondo, and older Pierce, and lots of money to spend.  But Boston has carried that reputation for not being a popular FA landing spot for many years.

It will be very interesting.  I will say this....and I know I am getting ahead of myself.  But if we won back to back titles I could see them bringing EVERYONE back and going for a 3peat.

Not surprising, Rondo is growing into the best player on this team. If we're going to have success this year, a lot depends on him embracing that.
