What would you say to Danny Ainge if you bumped into him?

1) Did he think honestly at the time Boston had the best deal for Kevin Garnett, and did he think McHale thought at the time the Boston deal was the best available too?

2) Why is Kevin McHale not our new big man coach?

3) Will there be a lockout, and how is the possible lockout going to change the face of the NBA?

4) Will he ever consider coaching again?

5) Cage match, him and Tree Rollins..who wins?

You always end with a laugh.

I'm sure he has a better relationship with the beat guys that he knows/trusts but he's pretty untrusting of bloggers I think - which is funny because his staff all seems to read CelticsBlog daily

  I think I see the problem. He may have gotten a peek at the blog after he traded Raef and Roy for Telfair and Theo (but before the Ray trade), or possibly after he let Posey get away and re-signed Tony.

If I met Danny Ainge, and I were feeling particularly bold on the occasion then I might ask him where he thinks this basketball franchise will be at five years from now. If it wasn't for the fact that it is still the pre-season then I might also ask him if he is optimistic about the team's chances of advancing deep into the playoffs these next few seasons.

That, or I'd just ask him for his autograph, or to pose in a photograph w/ me...

Depends how much time I had to talk to him.  I'd thank him and tell him he has done a great job.  I'd thank him for trading Antoine and ask him why he preferred O'Bryant to Birdman. 

I'd want to know who the most uncoachable players were, and why guys he was high on such as Marcus Banks and Sebastian Telfair flopped.

And of course I'd want some stories about Bird and the 80's.

I ran into him outside of the Burlington Newbury Comics/Wendy's shortly after they won the title (I was buying the DVD), he was on the phone so I started to walk by him b/c I didn't want to pester him, but rethought it, span around and said almost exactly that:

"Thankyou, sir"

Shook his hand and went on my way.

I think if in that scenerio, I'd say, "Listen, I graduated from BYU too.  What are we doing sitting in this bar, Danny?"
