Can anyone here point to players who might be prime in-season trade targets in 2010-11? And how are the Celtics positioned to acquire these players?

J.R. Smith comes to mind for me. Gives the bench some much needed athleticism, length, youth, and scoring. Imagine Rondo and Smith running the same floor. Man o man.

What could we offer in return?

Depends on how the season plays out. I think we could dangle Perks expiring along with BBD and a filler, maybe Daniels for Smith and another big. I doubt we'd be able to make a reasonable offer for him, Im just suggesting that Danny inquires for him because he will be available.

I was wondering about this too. Tayshaun came to mind. I can't remember how he looked last year. I think his defense is a little overrated. He didn't have a prayer of guarding Pierce in our title year. It was like Prince was not even there.Has he dropped off a lot or maybe it was that the Wallace's and Billups were also great defenders.
I think I'd hurl at hearing how "classy" Grant Hill was game in and game out but he sure would fit in nice. Does anyone think there's a prayer of him taking a buyout if Phoenix plays poorly? Not that he'd necessarily pick us.

I know that this trade, is fanciful and not likely, but it could happen if the 76ers have lost faith in Evan Turner? This trade can take place on December 15th and is cleared on RealGM' Trade Checker.

To Philadelphia:   Jermaine O’Neil (C)        ($ 5.8m/2 yrs.)
                   Marquis Daniels (G/F)      ($ 2.3m/1 yr.)
                   Nate Robinson (G)          ($ 4.2m/2 yrs.)

To Boston:         Andres Nocioci (F)         ($ 6.8m/2 yrs.)
                   Evan Turner* (G)           ($ 4.1m/2 yrs)

       -----------------------------------------------

                  BOSTON CELTICS

F- Paul Pierce - Andres Nocioci - Stephane Lasme+
F- Kevin Garnett - Glen Davis - Luke Harangody**
C- (Kendrick Perkins) - Shaquille O'Neal+ - Semih Erden
G- Rajon Rondo - Delonte West+ - Avery Bradley*
G- Ray Allen - Evan Turner* -
         Playtoff Signing: Rasheed Wallace (F/C)

Why for Celtics: Gives the C's a Large back up for Pierce and
the eventual replacement for Ray Allen. I believe that the 76ers would be willing to trade Turner is because they seem to
have doubt that he will get up to speed in the NBA?

Why for 76ers: This give them a legitimate Center and solid back ups for TYoung and JHoliday. We may have to give them a Draft choice or two?

   + Free Agent Signing.
   * 1st Round Draft Choice.
  ** 2nd Round Draft Choice.

This not working, I would suggest a trade for James Posey
for Marquis Daniels and Jermaine O'Neal? I think the Pacers would go for this to get rid of Posey's large contract and it would fit with Ainge' two year salary dump plan?

1. We aren't getting Evan Turner
2. The Sixers aren't going to lose faith in a rookie in his first year.
3. We aren't getting Evan Turner
4. The Sixers would never trade a rookie with a ton of potential in the division.
5. We aren't getting Evan Turner.

Talk about a ridiculous post. One of the most ridiculous ones I have ever seen on these forums.

It's like Lakers getting Pau Gasol. Great for Sixers but not for us. Already solid formidable 6-10 for us. The only way that's going to be broken up is if its a huge huge upside, not just so you can put a filler on SF.

Why Shane Battier for Glen Davis & Nate Robinson.  Trade checker be [dang]ed!  He is the missing piece.  ;D

Not at that price.  No way would I give up two productive rotation players -- players we actually need.

If Daniels plays well and stays healthy, I don't think we have a missing piece.  I definitely wouldn't trade two pieces for one piece.  Nate and Glen are going to contribute big time this year.

I wonder if Phily might consider letting go of Thaddeus Young later in the year + how much they'd be asking for in return.

Nothing about that deal is great for the Sixers. Jesus I love the Celtics too but you people need to lay off the Kool-aid.

Evan Turner is going to be a stud in this league for years to come.
