Depending on health 55-60 wins.  Unless this bench really gels and that fixes those late 3rd quarter nose dives we took every single frickin game aaaaarrggghhhh!!!  >:(  Then 60-65 wins.

Agreed on the 3rd qtr. meltdowns. From arguably the best 3rd qtr team in the '08 season to one of the worst last season. Hopefully they revert back to the '08 version.

Bump...

TP's to those with accurate prediction of events this season...but we wait on the record predictions.

Looking back, we expected quite a bit from some players that, for whatever reason, didn't deliver.  I suppose the extent of trade deadline activity shouldn't have come as much of a surprise, as it is turning out that our depth was a shadow, rookies are still rookies, and Nate Robinson isn't a PG in any system, even as a backup.

I have to stay with my original 60.  It will be a struggle, but I think the team is ready to step up and try for maximum HCA (i.e.  against the Bulls and Lakers).

I don't believe I made a prediction in this thread, but I did make a prediction in one of the threads.

I predicted 55 wins so it looks like we are going to surpass that, but I just hope we have a better record than LA and Chicago at the end of the year.

Well, I was off. But had we not been plagued with so many injuries I think we would have easily hit 65 wins. And not just our old guys - Daniels, Baby, Delonte West, Erden, Rondo missed 7-8 games, etc.

Had we simply had DWest and either Jermaine OR O'Neal healthy all year we would be racking up 65+ wins.

I know, I know...if my Aunt had balls she'd be my uncle...

But I'll just say that if we are healthy come playoff time - meaning both Jermaine and Shaq can give us 15-20 a night each - and DWest is playing, we will see a team steam rolling teams like it was a team that won 65-70 games this year. Fully healthy, we are that good.

Give me:
Shaq, Jermaine, KG, Big baby, Murphy, Pierce, JGreen, Ray, DWest, Rondo and Arroyo
and I'll give you #18, guaranteed.

WE just need to get healthy at the right time.

At this late hour, I'm guessing 56-57 wins.

The loss to Cleveland in the second game of the season foreshadowed the return of this team's on/off switch, which began last year.  There's been too many lethargic efforts to bottom-feeder teams (Toronto, NJ, Detroit, Cleveland, Charlotte).

And they've mixed those in with mail-it-in performances like the ones on the road against Houston, Denver and Phoenix.  I'm not saying other teams don't have these lapses.  But there's been too many of these for this Celtics team, and those games will come back to haunt them in the race for HCA.  Despite the injuries, this team should have won 60 games and the #1 seed easily.

I think it showed that on the second night of back to backs we'd be in trouble, which has proven to be true. (especially on the road)

I think we'll see something similar to last year.  The team will start out hot, and then will take its foot off the gas to conserve health and energy for the playoffs.  I'm predicting 56 wins and 3rd in the East.
This may be spot on on all accounts.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

I say 65 is a reasonable goal but anything over that not so much. I think the C's will finish somewhere around 60-65 wins. Hopefully that is enough wins to claim homecourt over Miami and LA. I think both of those teams will probably take the C's to 7. Winning a game 7 in Miami and LA when the opponent has the best player on the court is never a good situation to be in. With that said everything is just a guess right now.

boooo

C's were a 60 win team this year. Just let up one to many times.

Celtics had the chance to be seed 1 or at worst 2 so many times and they blew it.

They have a bad road record this year and they won't be enjoying much of Homecourt for the playoffs, they have no one but themselves to blame (and maybe Ainge *flamebait*.
Celtics' turn on switch for the playoffs: the last bastion of hope for battered Celtic fans.
