I don't think the 15th man is on this roster yet.  (Well 13th man since the two rookie big men should be 14 and 15)




If only Scali was available.     






I think that roster spot could be left open most the season as they wait for someone better to land in the recycling bin.

     Whether he makes the team or not, what I saw was a guy really TRYING to be a team player. The techs are probably him frustrated at himself. He's overpassed into turnovers here and there when he should shoot. Probably because he knows he has a rep for shooting when he should'nt. It's been a tough time for him. It has not gone well so far for Von. I was actually surprised at his quickness. He really looks like an NBA player to me. I think he wants it bad. Maybe too much.I bet he'd love a do-over.

I don't like his body language one bit. Two techs in the preseason already is clearly not a good sign. Also when he went to the bench to get termed out by Doc he had an incredulous look on his face and had something to say. Cut this headcase immediatley. It's clear he hasn't learned anything from being cut by Adelman and black listed to Europe.

I'd much rather keep Lasme. The kid clearly looks like he plays D at a high level and his effort has been there too. Plus he's a big body and possibly could be good at the sf spot.

There was that one tech he picked up in the first game...  thirty seconds to go, up by thirty.  No idea what he did or said, they didn't address it at all on the broadcast - but there is absolutely no reason to pick up a tech in that situation.

When does Wafer's contract become guaranteed?  He hasn't shown anything to prove he belongs on the court, but with Delonte's suspension and AB being a rook who ain't seen the floor yet, it wouldn't be terribly surprising to see him make the team out of camp.  Then, ten games to prove himself until Delonte returns, and if not....  gone.  Nothing says you couldn't bring back Mario West or Lamse, if they haven't committed elsewhere.

The way Wafer's played the C's would be much better off just stretching the playing time for Daniels and Nate until Delonte is back.  I don't see what he would add to those first 10 games at all.

So far I like Lasme he has the size and energy to help out Paul and Marquis with guys like Lebron. I had really high hopes for Wafer from his stint with the rockets but he looks like he is putting himself under pressure out there and instead of letting the game come to him... on good spots on the 3 point line.

Lasme is a PF. Having him defend SFs will be like watching Travis Outlaw trying to defend Pierce (we all saw how that worked).

I hear you both thought he looked like a SF/PF certainly doesn't look too slow or lacking in the will to give it an honest go.

Perhaps I am wrong but the ONLY concern I have with this team right now is PP putting in shifts against the Carmelo's and Lebron's of this world with only Marquis for help not to mention KD

Wafer on the other hand is only an asset if he is doing something offensively and right now he is not

He's not sure what he's supposed to do, and Doc has to do a better job of trying to implement him by calling plays. He hasn't even shot a jumpshot all Preseason yet . Lasme will be cut (he's a liability offensively, when teams become aware of his game he'll do nothing but get benched) and someone else will get him or he'll go to Portland. Mario West is a bust at best. Von is a keeper and he'll prove his worth tonight vs. Toronto.

Calling plays for him? Wafer won't get any plays called for him, and if he can't figure out how his skills fit with the rest of his teammates, then he's a bigger liability offensively than Lasme is.

And to tell you the truth, I can figure out what Wafer's role is without setting foot in the locker room and just by reading Doc's interviews: play defense, take all open shots that are given to you, don't force anything.

Wafer will be cut. Make no mistake. There is no reason he shouldn't have been at least as effective as West for us, and he can't even find an open shot for himself during this preseason.

Well, we might have to keep himn for a while longer too see if he has any value.....but so far he has nothing. Him as a small forward...no way, not when you could put lasme out there for that. Lasme has shown moves, good decisions, jumps, rebounding, power, strength...shooting, easy to learn, if you want it......why wait for wafer...since when has the C's waited for any player.? Send him to Maine...you can have lobsta with wafers...!

Wafer has something to prove. Rondo just needs not to get injured. So no, it's not quite the same.
