theres a lot to be excited about. i just hope doc keeps the minutes of the starters down during the season.
he seemed to love playing ray and rondo 45+ min a game last season and you could see what it did to ray in the playoffs. i think dwest will def let ray get much needed rest during games. as much as i wanna hope rondo's minutes will get cut down, they wont. doc is gonna drive him the entire year and nate will prob not get much time on the court.
in terms of the big guys, our centers will be more than rested come playoff time with both o'neals splitting time and maybe even getting erdin in there.
garnett will prob split time with big baby this year. doc hopefully keeps garnett to 25 mpg and lets bbd take care of the rest. its his contract year so i think he will produce.
our bench will be good enough if doc trusts them and gives them time on the court.
also, wafer should be cut. hes terrible
I agree with this depth we have now that the Big Three shouldn't play more than 32 MPG, and no more than 40 in any game (and even to get to 40 it should be an important game), but Doc did a pretty good job last year with their minutes.
Ray didn't play 45 minutes in a single game last season, and played over 40 only 19 times (considering what we getting from our backup SG last season and Paul/KG missing so much time, that is a low number). Even better by Doc - Ray was only used for 40+ minutes twice after the All-Star break.
KG didn't play more than 35 minutes in any game during the regular season.
Pierce played 40+ in 13 games in the regular season, and only once after the ASB. But Marquis really needs to step up and play 15 quality minutes a game this season.
Rondo played 40+ 21 times last season in the regular season, but considering House's poor shooting and Doc not trusting Nate, that is understandable. He did play over 45 minutes in 7 games, but with Nate getting a training camp under his belt and Doc probably willing to trust him, along with Delonte able to run the point, his numbers should drop as well.
This season they should all play less MPG.
