Before we kick off the season tonight I thought it might be fun for folks to throw out their "Around the NBA Predictions".

Here's mine... wait for it:
Darko's gonna have a terrific year. By seasons end he will be viewed as one of the steals of the off season.

I don't think so.  Kevin Love might be an allstar though.  I predict Jermaine ONeal misses a lot of time with a bad knee, then he isn't very good when gets back on the court.  Don't want to be a Debbie Downer, but I've been thinking that since we signed him.

I predict Lebron will be the regular season MVP, the Heat will have the best record, but the Celtics will win the championship.

I'll say J.J Hickson wins the most improved player award.

Wade will outplay LeBron.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

I disagree. I think Jermaine is going to have a big year with the Cs!

the Heat will have a terrific season and have the league-best record (67 wins), only to be ousted by either the Celtics or the Magic in the playoffs.

Celtics will win the championship.

Kevin Durant wins his first MVP award
Dwight Howard wins another DPOY
John Wall wins ROY
Lakers will have the best record in the West
Gasol will finally get injured in the playoffs and they'll lose to the Thunder or the Jazz or something
Pierce will get injured for the 2nd half of the year but will come back with around 2 weeks left in the season. It will be a blessing in disguise because he will be rested for the playoffs.

and finally... BBD will not be traded, but he will pick up DNP's towards the end of the season as Perk plays limited minutes while he makes his way back from injury. However, either Shaq or JO will miss a playoff series midway (maybe the Heat series :P) and there will be a surprise return of Shrek and Donkey which will come up big for us.

yeah, i'm just making things up, but don't you think those things can be probable? haha

Good stuff guys!

I predict Blake Griffin is ROY and leads the Clips to the playoffs.

On a slightly more serious note - Bynum's injury timing gets him to the post-season healthy for the 1st time in years, and the lakers dispose of whoever limps out of the East

That's probably a good prediction with how weak the West is.

C's sleepwalk to 60+ wins barely breaking much of a sweat all the while resting guys with minor aches.

Miami vs Boston in ECF (this is more anticipated than a C's Lakers or Lakers vs Heat finals)

The C's dispose of Heat in 6.

The C's dispose of LA in 5.

Doc is still correct about the C's never losing with their starting 5 in tact.

On to next year.

After a promising preseason Celts trade Semih for a low 1st rounder (sounds Red-like to me) then he becomes the next Stojko Vrankovic

Sheed unretires but joins the heat and it collapses from within

Tony Allen leads the league in scoring for 2 weeks then tears his ACL during an introductions dance

Sacramento are going to make the playoffs for the first time in ages. Cousins won't win ROY but will be a close second...
