Jonas Jerebko tears achilles

Pistons medical staff confirmed today through an MRI that Jerebko suffered a partially ruptured Achilles tendon on his right leg during the first quarter in last night’s game at Miami. He is scheduled to have surgery on Friday, October 8 and is expected to miss the next five-to-six months.

How can one "partially rupture" a tendon? It's either ruptured or it isn't, right?

I saw the play; he landed hard on his elbow, which what I thought the initial injury was.

Tough break for a kid who really works hard. Here's hoping for a full recovery.

That sucks for Jerebko ... but it might be good news for Detroit.

It looked like the Pistons were going to start him at the four and give him a considerable amount of minutes there which would have been a bone-headed decision that hurt them all year long.

So a blessing in disguise for Detroit.

I'm guessing Charlie V would see minutes before Monroe, but I'm hoping that doesn't happen. I'd like to see Monroe, and I'd think he would play the 4 and Maxiell would play the 5. I kinda doubt Ben Wallace is gonna be the man at center for very long...

Yeah, Monroe might be a center some day, but he's way too skinny now.  I'd much rather Monroe get minutes than watch Henry Abbott's brother from another mother chuck 3s and slack on defense too.
