Quote in my signature. Sort of vague I know but it has stuck with me ever since I read it at age 11.

To be honest my own memory of it is fairly hazy as it would've been 1995 when it happened, there's a hint!

Just wanted to throw it out there as I know many fans on here will recall the event a lot better than me and will be able to give their view on it.

Will post the origin myself this time tomorrow if there is no response.

100 TP's for first correct response ;)

Dana Barros #11 - Legend :)

Answer is: the signing of Dana Barros. :)

The fact that it was a particularly lucrative deal and Barros had only just had the one breakout year with the Sixers was brought into question by some journalist/reporter and ML's straight up response contained the below words.

To any fans who may remember it more clearly - what was the reaction from fans and media about Barros coming to the Celtics (for the first time ;))?

Was cool seeing him on NESN when I was in Boston in February this year. I still have the #11 jersey I bought in 1996! ;D
