I'm actually interested to see how things work out in Golden State with David Lee (very underrated for a 20-10 player) and without Nellie (killing player development for the past few years).
Never forget the Champs of '08, or the gutsy warriors of '10.

It's a tie between how little I care about NJ and how little I care about Golden State. ;)

chicago -- much ado about nothing.

not that I'm enthused about any other team except the C's.  I'll be checking up on Big Al in Utah, Powe in Cleveland, Gomes in Clipperland and TA in Memphis but that's the extent of my non-Celtic interest.

New York.  They were a 29-53 team that lost David Lee and got Amar'e Stoudemire.  Don't know how that translates to many more wins, especially if Stoudemire goes the way of Shawn Marion in his post-Steve Nash career.

The Nets.  They were boringly bad last year.  They added a very Raw rookie.  I expect them to be boringly bad this year.

Then GS.  Interested to see how far from Nellie ball they go.

Miami. They're going to win a million games, get hyped all year, get punched in the teeth in the playoffs, finger pointing will start, espn will ask whether the sky might be falling, we'll hear a  really strange story that's off topic about how the problem is that Lebron's mom is in trouble with Chris Bosh's dad about a gambling incident, then we'll see how they respond.

It won't be even remotely interesting or unpredictable till at least round 2 of the playoffs.

NJ and then Golden State.

On a different note but still related to the topic of "revamped" teams, I think Chicago is overrated. Or at least I think the media should be careful before claiming they will make a big leap this year, because we know what happened every time the hype was around the Bulls, with the "they are one year older and one year better, they are back and relevant again!" speech to finally witness huge disappointment and even regression.

Chicago were a 41 win team last season and added Carlos Boozer in the offseason to a core of Derrick Rose, Joakim Noah and Luol Deng.

They are going to win 10-15 more games than they did last season (health permitting).

I'm quite enthused to see all of this, outside the whole winning part.

Can we add Indiana to this list?

I'm a huge Pacers fan, and they are my clear cut second favorite team, by a large margin. Used to root for them religious come playoff time every year because well... the Celtics were never really playoff relevant through the whole time. Reggie Miller continue to be in my top 10 favorite players of all time. The other 9 are all Celtics.

So them adding Collison to pair with Granger greatly interests me. I think that can be a very dynamic combo, and their only a couple pieces away from having a real serious team again.

New Jersey is a super boring team.  They will be horrible once again.  Golden State didn't do anything special, but I still don't mind watching them.

I'm very excited to see Utah and Miami- I'll be rooting hard for Utah and hard against Miami.  Chicago will be a very good team, but they aren't tremendously exciting to me.

Chicago...what's with this hype machine that has people treating Joakim Noah like the second coming of Bill Russell? And I expect Boozer to be just as big of a disappointment as he has been everywhere else.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
19.5 points and 11 boards as the second best player on a perennial playoff team in the west (when the West was as good or better than the East) is pretty low disappointment.
