I'm fascinated by the pick-up game that Shaq spoke of.

Shaq, KG, Semih, and Marquis vs. Big Baby, Jermaine O'Neal, Pierce and Ray.

I would love to have been a fly on the wall watching that game.  Who guarded who?  I mean, obviously one team has a size advantage but the other has shooting and mobility advantages.  Did they run full court?  Who do you guys think won?

I was wondering too, and figured Shaq guarded BBD, "the Turkish Guy" guarded JO, KG guarded Pierce and 'Quis had Ray. I could see either team winning, but my bet would be on Shaq's team for some reason, but if it was full-court than Pierce's team probably won.

Great interview, this season is definitely setting up for an entertaining one.

This is good. This means we can clearly define the "I like Shaq always running his mouth, even if in actuality he'd talking out of his butt" crowd from the "I don't care if he is the most charismatic sports personality since Magic, real Boston Celtics don't run their yapper." crowd.

lol, you drew the line before me. :(

I consider myself a part of "thank god everyone isn't as classy (boring) as Tim Duncan and we have some guys who don't feel the need to hold their tongues (un-classy/have personality)" group.

Feel free to join if you haven't picked your side of the fence yet.

They can run their mouths as much as they want at other teams...as long as they don't snipe at each other.  If they do, though, they may have to eat words if they end up playing on the same team at some point.  Shaq has been pretty good (with a few exceptions) about saying positive things about his opponents (and giving them good usable nicknames).  I like the BBM tag for the bench!

QUINCY, Mass. -- Shaquille O'Neal lounged in his family room last June observing the Lakers' championship celebration on his flat-screen television, listening to the comments of former teammate Kobe Bryant with a bemused smile.

When asked what his fifth championship meant to him personally, Bryant declared, "I got one more than Shaq. So you can take that to the bank."

"My first thought [after hearing that] was, 'Well, I guess I'm still relevant,'" O'Neal said. "Kobe is still thinking about me, I guess. I'm still someone to be measured against.

"But I don't compete with little guards. I don't compete with little guys who run around dominating the ball, throwing up 30 shots a night -- like D-Wade, Kobe.

"Well, I'm not done."

Hardly. Actually, The Big Shamrock is just getting warmed up.

Seems a little unneeded, no? Not sure why he felt the need to go on and smack talk Wade.. Kobe, I understand and I'm not thrilled with what happened in Miami this summer but don't think Wade deserves any hate.

I don't say anything unneeded about this, at all and kudos to Shaq. Personally, I think Dwayne Wade is secretly just as much of an egomaniac as anyone else.

I don't remember hearing about any bad blood between Wade and Shaq after their title.  Perhaps there was something brewing under the surface after Wade got a lot of the accolades when it was Shaq that carried that team to the title.

Let's get this straight :

Shaq did NOT carry his team to the title.  Hell..he wasn't even the 2nd Leading Scorer of the NBA Finals either.   He was 3rd.  You know who was 2nd?   ANTOINE WALKER.

So Shaq should shut his fat azz up about talking sh*t about Wade(I have nothing against him even now with LeBoring James there) 'cause he was pretty useless in '06 and Toine had to help carry his now overrated azz.

Hey... Shaq's on our team, Wade's in Miami. We didn't bring him in to score 20 a game, so I don't care if he's the seventh option or whatever. He's a Celtic.

What does scoring have to do with carrying a team to a title?  Is that how you judge it, by the leading scorer?

I know we're throwing the term "carry" around kind of loosely here, but Shaq played a huge role on that Finals team, and there are plenty of significant contributors on other contending teams that weren't the leading scorer.  Steve Nash, Ben Wallace, etc.

So Shaq went nearly 18/10 in those playoffs and he was an afterthought in those playoffs?  Ummm...okay.  Last I checked there was more to it than just scoring and 18.4 ppg in the playoffs isn't too shabby, either.  There's no way the Heat win the title that year without Shaq's contributions.

Shaq always wears his insecurities on his sleeve. I just take his comments as entertainment since they aren't about me and they are hard to take seriously. He really is an egomaniac.

I will take them more serious when he starts taking shots at Celtics.
