Me and my girlfriend, just got engaged, she was born on Wisconsin, so we will be getting married out There, I live in Connecticut, so when we get back from our honeymoon, we will be having a 2nd reception, mainly for my friends and family that were unable to attend in Wisconsin. Seeing it is for my side, my fiance, said I can have a Celtics themed reception. So I am looking for ideas, of things I can do to make it a true Celtics atmosphere.
my dream of getting married at halftime of a Celtics game already got shot down By the decision to get married in Wisconsin, so I figure this is the next best thing.

You should hire Lucky to MC.  I hear he's looking for work. ;)

You can use this as a cake topper:

In lieu of gifts, ask your guests for contributions to The Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation.  Then contact the Celtics PR office and let them know your intent and ask if a Celtics player might be interested in stopping by.  Expect a "no", but feel good about contributing a substantial donation to the Celtics charity in honor of your new marriage.

I got married last September and my wife was good enough to let me put some Celtics themes into our wedding reception.  We numbered our tables after retired Celtics numbers and the seating cards listed the number and name of each player.  All my friends were fighting with us for months, they all wanted to be at the Larry Bird table!  We even had the table numbers look like the individual squares on the banners from the garden.

We made coupons with Red on them and gave them to friends for free cigars from a cigar roller we had at the reception.  We also used green as one of our main colors and of course were introduced to the Celts starting line-up theme of the time.  Celtics cuff-links were one of my wedding gifts from my wife and I gave all of the guys in my wedding party custom jersey shirts with their last name and the number being our wedding date.

I went a little crazy and  was shot down on a couple of things though.  I wanted to use a 2008 championship banner as a guest book and let people sign the banner.  I also wanted to get a KG cardboard cut out outside the hall for some funny photos.

Believe it or not, my girlfriend already agreed to that exact wedding cake topper, and the garter. I would love to be able to get Lucky. However I have no contact info for him. The shamrock foundation idea sounds good. I went to a wedding once, and in lieu of favors they made a donation to St Jude's children's hospital. I'm thinking next St Patrick's day, I will be able to get decorations.

She did however shoot down the idea, of having 2 Celtic dancers perform.

I have come to the realization that there are bigger Celtics fans than me!

Hope you can get a Celtics cameo. Maybe some Jojo White.

Fox, that is an amazing idea about the retired numbers, we will definitely be doing that. I suggested to my finance, that I will have a small player profile on the back of each table number card. Maybe throw in a little, "did You know..." about every player. The more. Ideas we think of, the more excited I am getting. I have to remember this is the 2nd reception, though. So I will have to help her plan the first more traditional reception.

One Idea I would love, is to have "we are the champions" playing that night. That however is out of my control. The Celtics have a little buisness to take care of first. Lets bring home #18 boys!!!

PS we were unable to plan the wedding for next June, in order not to interfere with any possible playoff games.

Here is a photos of what they ended up looking like.  My wife and sister-in-law actually made them.
